All four on the cam right now. The one still has a bit of down. Could be Sunday. Let's keep fingers crossed for Sunday. One more day makes a big difference.

I think this is Rocky coming in to check on the kids. He made a brief drop and then got out of there quick

I never did see both adults together today.

Well, I went down to the Water St site late this morning and met up with Bonnie who gave me a brilliant orientation to what was what. There were a a couple of the young ones on the edge looking like they were ready to launch but none did while I was there (until around 1:30, Bonnie). At one point three of them were perched on the edge and I was almost sure one would fly off but no. With Bonnie's fabulous equipment you could really see the extent of the down that is still there -- not much, but just enough that another day of waiting would be good...

Thanks to both of you for going down to check on these very active fledglings. Bonnie, your photos are awesome as usual. I sure hope they wait a few more days. Its a very busy time down there this weekend. Hopefully others will be around watching as well.

Hi, All! Actually today would have been almost the best day to fledge and don't think both parents didn't try to get at least the first one off that ledge. They had a 3K run in honor of the veterans so South St was closed on both sides and there were lots of people around. Then a huge helicopter came and both adults went out to shoo it away. I met my eagle photographer buddy who is now hooked on the peregrines at Water St. And I met another ardent peregrine watcher at Riverside Church who will be down. He is also a rehabber and knows exactly what to do if there is a problem.

Here are pictures, plus an off topic set in honor of Memorial Day.

These are great photos, Bonnie! Aren't those little faces the cutest? I absolutely love these birds. It sure looks like maybe one fledged already (?) (I only see 3) and that the next one is getting ready today! Checking in at 5:00 a.m., I noticed a lot of wing flapping right on the edge of the plank up there. Gives me heart failure...LOL

At 8:35 this morning I definitely saw a fledge. One of the eyases was on the edge of the nestbox when another one kind of hop-flew over to him and he just took off flying. I now see only 2 in the nestbox, although that doesn't really mean much because we can't see down in the well or down the ledge. Wow...I hope there is somebody down there!

Definitely two fledges this morning. Some young men took a phone picture of the first one around 8:30 am that landed on Pier 11 just north of where we were and next to the Brooklyn Bridge. The other one landed on the sign right over the FDR. We noticed it at 10 am. We watched it for three and a half hours when I finally left at 1:30 pm. The building confirmed only two were in the scrape at 1:30. Pictures are coming. Just bought a new camera and have to check it out first.

Keep your fingers crossed both avoid the traffic, unlike the helicopter that injured people in Staten Island. That is the one in the picture from yesterday.

I have been watching what I believe to be 3 babies for most of the day.

There is clearly 3 birds there now. That I believe are all babies.

I can call the building and see if they put one back up. There were definitely only two earlier. Maybe one made it back by itself. The one on the sign really wanted to go up there.

***Definitely three eyases in the scrape at 6 pm. Just checked the web cam. Could be the building engineers on the 14th floor were wrong.*****

Bonnie - I don't think they put one back up there. I think the same bird fledged, came back and left again. He sure seems like he knows what he is doing. I'm positive I saw one of them take off this morning around 5:30.

They did not put a bird back up. And I suspect our friend at Pier 11 is the same bird that was on the sign. The building guys could be wrong.

Anyway, very exciting down there today:

We had heart failure every time the bird jumped closer to the middle of the FDR.

This is the view:

Hope the fledgling doesn't get a ticket:

Wow! Great pics! He looks like he isn't doing to badly. His landings look pretty good, which is really what you have to worry about when they first start flying. He is so cute!

Since it got light out, I have onlyl seen 2 eyases up there. Let's hope they get the camera turned around so we can see the ledge and the "window well" there!
