A weather reprieve
Posted on 10-12-2010

Orange woke up this morning to slightly brighter skies after more rain last night and this morning there’s sun, and a member of the peregrine clan making the very most of the brighter stuff up on the ledge. We’re due for finer weather over this next week which will be in the birds’ favour for hunting and for drying out.

I'm glad to hear the weather is improving. Solo needs to get some good hunting lessons under her wings. :-)

I tried to grabbed it for you kitten and I got the error message too :santashy: but here's the latest post,

It’s been too quiet!

Apologies for the lack of posts lately, but all back on board again for the long haul through ’til next year!
I arrive at campus this morning after another 2-3 days of wet and windy weather. Today’s forecast is for rain and wind gusting up to 55km/hr (35mph) so it’s not ideal peregrine flying or hunting weather. So far no sign of the birds, and no doubt they’re laying low to avoid being blown away, unless they’re already scattered.
First signs of life we’ll let you know …
Last week in Melbourne I met up with our future camera and software provider. A fruitful meeting and was given a much better understanding of the potential of the equipment that we’re currently looking at. Thanks very much Basil!!

BTW KITTEN I love-love-love your kitty signature :P

I'm really sorry to have to post this. Scott posted this video on YouTube but he hasn't posted on the website yet, Solo has hurt her foot.

Oh, Carly--you are a ray of sunshine when things go wrong & we are worried about something! So glad you're a part of our wonderful group! :banasan: I did take comfort that she is able to feed herself even with this injury, although I don't know that she can necessarily catch her own food. Well, if this injury ends up being permanent or taking a long time to heal, she may have to stay with her parents, like Polly in Montreal did. Polly also had an injured leg, but she was able to catch her own food.

Oh that was painful to watch...and Carly, thanks for those encouraging words...I know they will keep a very close eye on her and will help anyway they can..so that brings me some comfort. I'm so glad to see her eating...and do hope there is nothing infected...

Thanks for posting the reminder about Polly, Carly. I left Scott & group a comment & told them about Polly, too, to help ease their worry. Polly's leg was almost certainly broken, but healed eventually & she was able to fend for herself, so all is not lost even if Solo's leg is broken. You hate to see her go through this, but she could come out of this fine.
