Susan, you are so fast - I was just in the process of posting one of those pictures - I thought it was Durand too!

Good morning to you miss Early Bird!!

Your picture is upside down - I had saved a few pictures like that too - is it the web cam that is doing that? I thought it was my computer at the time - so funny!

I don't know what is causing it. It just started doing that for me yesterday.

Thanks for the videos this morning. For the last couple of days, my computer practically stops when I have the columbus cam up. I get a popup box that says something like 'the movie you are playing has a script that is causing your computer to run slow, do you want to stop the script?' :-?

Sooo... don't look at the cam that much. Sure hope this is not a problem in the spring. Well I am getting a new computer for Christmas. (Santa is bringing it)

It didn't seem that she was as upset in this video as yesterday to me. I'm not sure Durand knows how to do an alarm call, can't remember if I've ever heard her or not.

WMP does that to me when I first open it, then it turns right-side-up. Not a problem except when you want to capture a picture right away. :-?

This is the weirdest thing I have come across in a loooong time; the cam image upside-down. And it's not just Susan, then you could think it's her computer causing it, but catwoman as well
What exactly do you ladies do to get to happen? Maybe some of us can try to re-create it, that might give us a clue (or not)

It only happened to me using WMP when I first opened the cam, & according to what I read on the WMP site, its normal (but only for a few seconds).

I usually view the cam with WMP, and it only just started happening to me yesterday. The image is upside down when it first comes on and then if I have switched to a different window and then back again to WMP, it is upside down for a few seconds. Of course, if my browser window is downsized so the cam is also visible, this does not happen. Does that make sense? In other words, if my browser's window is full-sized, filling the screen, and then if I switch to WMP running in the background, it is upside down. Again, it just started yesterday. Come to think of it, I believe my computer auto-downloaded about 13 Microsoft updates about that time. Wonder if that is the culprit.

What browser do you use?
I have tried to re-create it, but it's not happening here. I open Firefox, open one or more pages in different tabs, then open my stand-alone WMPlayer and open the Columbus ledge cam. Every time the image is normal.

I'm using Firefox, but based on what you're saying, it is probably some recent change to my computer. Thanks for checking it out.

heh heh heh, as soon as I posted my last message, I remembered that I had recently changed the video acceleration in WMP for a project and never changed it back. I just restored the acceleration in WMP to Full, and now I don't get the upside down image! :banasan: Thank you, DEF, for helping to "jog" my brain!!!

:sfclap: You're welcome (although I too had completely forgotten about that acceleration thing . . . )
Maybe this can help others with the same problem?

Glad you figured out the problem, Susan! I don't think I've mentioned on this thread that thanks to a tip from Ferenz, I can now get the Columbus cam on a player that I can also do captures from. Its called VLC Media Player & is free. Now if we just get some action on the ledge!
