Swinwk...thanks for your observations.

I just had a few minutes to check in before leaving again...the little one is in the corner with its little head resting on that piece of molding...I can't see its crop, so hopefully it has eaten some today...I'll keep watch until I have to leave.

Chick woke up about 1:18 while Mom there. She left 2-3 minutes later. Feather shafts on wings getting longer. When the chick is sitting, the top of it's head reaches to the base of Mom's neck now while she stands. The chick was able to stand all the way up on it's legs for a PS. It's going into that phase where it looks as if it is wearing a "mink stole" that I enjoy! In profile, it doesn't have a crop, but probably will before the day is out ...

Mom is in the nest box with the chick. I did not catch a feed today, but did notice earlier this evening the chick had a crop.

Our little munchkin just finished a huge breakfast.

I can watch for a little while...hoping to catch Dad...I've missed seeing him since my time has been limited.

When I was in yesterday, I did not catch Dad. Right now the chick is having a nap and Mom is thinking about one with heavy eyes ...

Dad's home!! He didn't stay long, think he could hear or see Mom in the distance. Mom's home! She didn't stay long either.

Mom just came in to the nest at 22:02 to check on the chick. And up to the parapet and out of sight at 22:03.

Chick is sacked out in the nest by itself at 00:22, but I'm sure Mom is out of sight nearby.

Feed in progress by Mom. Over at 1538 and Mom hopped out of the nest with the remains and ran straight toward us per cam with it and out of sight. Chick is going to take a nap I think. At 1540 someone swooped downward to the left of the building.

I can barely make out the chick in the nest box and I assume it is Mom's tail feathers I see hanging off the parapet as she faces the city. I hope the site leaves the cam view on the nest box as those that want to see the implosion can do so from company's FB page. The link is posted in excerpts below. Shep's Report Richmond, Va implosion

May 30 at 7 am sharp
Implosion of One James River Plaza office tower in Richmond
HUGE dust cloud! No wind so dust just hangs.
Falcon chick never moved from the boom, now it woke up, preening.
No parent seen since BEFORE implosion - if they flyby I missed it.
There was terrorism in Richmond overnite, and cities across USA.

Came in a few moments before the implosion and found the chick alone and sleeping in the rear, left, corner of the nest box. From the implosion site in preparation, you could see H20 being sprayed upward to control the dust and the crane holding up the draping to protect some of the surrounding buildings from flying debris during the blast. The chick remained in this position through the implosion and going back and forth between the live feed of the implosion and here, I did not notice any reaction from the chick. I never saw the dust of the implosion from the nest cam view. And that cloud did disperse within 20 minutes or less that was visible at least on the live feed. You could start seeing the pile of rubble well before the 20 minutes was up. The reporter said the windows bowed in and out on buildings they could see and fire alarms were going off around the area. He said it was louder than he thought it would be. He mentioned there was a very slight delay d/t someone maybe in the area, but that was cleared and they quickly went on with the implosion. Afterwards, once the air had cleared you could see the dust clinging to the leaves on the trees. I am not sure, but he may have been near the Twin Towers to tape the piece as he mentioned them and it is the west tower I believe that the nest is on. I am watching for Mom and Dad to check in and have not seen them yet, although I did see a large bird flying since the implosion that I wondered if it were one of them. The chick has since moved to the opposite corner and about the nest.

Thanks for the report Swink! I did just see the video on TV, it seemed pretty low to the ground which is good. Hope we seee the parents soon.
