It appears that she feeds one, then the next one, and the next one. I saw her feeding the three--had to back up the catch the beginning of the feed.

Yes, I caught a feeding just now. It seems like they all got some. Still 3 chicks and an egg.

A little concerning...there has been no parent on the nest since 7:30 pm on Wednesday.

I saw Dad and can hear him. I think they've lost the female.

Per Zeka (YT chat) who now runs the Predatory Bird Program at UC Santa Cruz - there is confirmation that at least 1 parent is nearby, but it is very unusual for the young to be uncovered overnight at this stage.

I can hear activity (Dad & I think a female), but I don't know that it's Mom. :girlsad3:

Kids are being covered now. I don't know whether it's mom or dad.

This was early this morning.

I'm concerned about the chicks being hungry. They haven't been fed for 12 hours.

Well, they were given the opportunity to eat but nobody took it. I suspect the parent there is dad. He might not know that mom clucks to get the chick's attention. I can't tell whether he clucked, because the cam audio is messed up. They're trying to fix it. :girlsad3:

Unfortunately, Dad tried feeding again and I'm not sure he got any meals in. Looks as if 1 eyas may have died - no movement and away from other 2.

Salinas dad was with the 2 remaining chicks all day, twice he fed them. They appeared to be strong and healthy. The mystery continues: a guy announced that the mom was sitting on the building 3 or 4 ledges down. She may be injured or sick, but still alive.

It appears Mom might be back.

Someone on YT chat mentioned they saw her 3-4 floors down.

Another person reported that they were downtown and saw the male on 1 building and Mom on live cam on nest.

I do think she returned at approximately 6:29PM (18:29) and if I had to guess - I think she may have a slight wing injury - her right wing. Only reason I say this is because of the way she was holding her wing when she seemed to return to nest and was down on the nest.

Mom came back 18:29 and warmed the chicks. One chick died.

Thanks, mwplay and Terka!

I forgot to share with you what I realized last night about the differences between mom and dad. Mom has this thin white line above her beak that dad doesn't have.

Lastest chat was that both parents were in the nestbox at 7:05 a.m.
