one thing, Stewart has never even tried to hurt the two chicks but I have seen them startle them.

they are doing great, and I do believe he i s probably hunting outside. We just do not see it. We must remember there are 2 chicks and 2 adults to feed.

but when these guys fledge, the watchers need ot take note, as Stewart, may think they can fly better than they can, or he may be wary of them or may tag them . I only say this as we had this happen one year at one of our sites.
I am sure all will be well, but err on the side of caution.

One of the kids finds an uneaten cuckoo in the nest box. Time to practice those self-feeding skills. That is, once it captures and kills the (already dead) bird.

Band numbers: The boy with less white down (the first up on the shelf) is 48 / BE. The other one is 47 / BE.

It appears one of the chicks has fallen from the ledge. Hopefully it landed on the small ledge under the nest box. If anyone is around the vicinity can you look from the fledge watch garage or check the area. Thank you.
