thanks Jane. I just wondered as you can see something is happening and I do not know your sites. maybe ours are easier to watch from ground . and no nature is not easy. this is the part I hate.

I pray all will be well for these two. when he comes in , he goes to eggs. Red does not.

Had to finish an outdoor project before the rain arrives. On the Wilmington cams there is a way to rewind the action by sliding the red button at the bottom of the screen to the left. Not sure how far back it goes in time. Am very bummed to hear that this banded male has been there again. I seriously doubt that any of the eggs are going to hatch. Actually would prefer to see them than an unattended chick. SO sad.

me also Jane. I do not want a hatch now.. one looked like it had fluff sticking out but probably just fluff from nest

I have been using that rewind . it is great. But I will leave on record as I am not sitting at cam

I was watching the other cam view then, Nancy. Pretty sure it's the banded male. He actually came into the box while Red Girl was on the eggs. Too bad nobody has been able to make a screen grab to try to read the numbers. The way he follows her around, I have wondered if he's an offspring.

I wondered that, Jane. I guess (I hope) Trinity is safe with him.

The banded male was with Red Girl at dark and it looked like he jumped to the ledge under the nest box for the night. First light this morning found him in the nest again, bowing and ee-chupping to Red Girl. You get the impression that she wants him to go away. Once in a great while she will take a sudden step towards him that looks like a challenge but he just bows lower, backs up a step, and continues to jabber away. No sign of Trinity so far this morning.

Getting a band number on the web cam is probably not going to happen. The setup means that everything is backlit all day, and the numbers never resolve to the point of being legible. The federal band looks like green over white and the other band looks dark, like there may be tape on it. False color on small objects is also a characteristic of these webcams, so the colors stated above may not be correct.

Am sitting here with a magnifying glass looking at Beth's picture, and just can't tell anything. I know there are computer programs that enable pictures to be lightened. Beth, do you have any way of doing that? It's the left leg we'd want to see.

Anybody else notice that Red Girl acts like she's trying to produce a pellet and can't do it. I notice yesterday and again this morning, unless she's upset at the turn of events. The male is definitely banded. :girlsad3: I've got a video where you can see what I'm talking about Red Girl trying to expel a pellet. It isn't finished converting.

I don't have time. I had to free up space on the computer to get "convert" to run, and I have to run. Will do it when I get home later.

I saw a video on Facebook a while ago. This other male brought food for Red Girl. She grabbed it and flew off. :-(

Catwoman, If you think you are seeing a peregrine in Wilmington "gagging" check if you are on camera 2. The sound on camera 2 is delayed 2-3 seconds, so when the falcons vocalize you don't hear it right away, and it looks like they are coughing up a pellet. That has fooled me many times.

I have never been able to see a band number on the web cams. I have a full range picture and color processing tools on youtube, my computer, and in post production on my video editor, but I cannot resolve the digits on the bands. The data simply isn't there.

It has now been over 24 hours without a sign of Trinity. The banded male has been continually following her, bowing and ee-chupping, doing a lot of display flying, has done scrapes in new areas of the nest box, and has now brought a food offering. In the last couple of hours, since accepting the offering, she seems to be calmer when he is around and he has quieted the intensity of his advances.
