Caught a feeding that was already in progress around 11:30 this morning. The crops on those chicks were bulging, and yet three of them continued to be fed. The oldest moved away from the feeding, managing a few wobbly steps on its feet. It then went over to the scrape entrance, and I wondered if it was going to step out on the ledge. However, it turned around and went to the corner to go into the food coma pile. It is overcast here, slight breeze, chance of showers this afternoon, and temps around 60.

Another good feeding ended around 3:30 this afternoon. All chicks ate well. After the feeding the largest chick again came near the scrape entrance, but turned around and did a real healthy poop shot out on the ledge. Sun is trying hard to come here after a shower earlier.

Crimes, those young falcons were just fed AGAIN about 20 minutes ago. They are stuffed to the max!

:1val: Tonight Niecey is standing guard from the doorway while the chicks are sleeping in their corner.

:dancingegg: Wow!! That white fluffy, pile in the back corner just keeps getting bigger and bigger! Niecey is standing guard back there right now.

I am not aware of any feedings yet today, but that doesn't mean there haven't been any. The weather here is REALLY lousy. It has been raining all morning, and is to continue for the rest of the day and also on Saturday. According to the weather report on our local news at noon, it's 57 degrees, and may get a few degrees warmer than that today. Tough hunting day for 85. Niecey is doing her best to keep the chicks dry as the all huddle in the corner of the scrape. There is some bird activity at my place at the feeders, but not a lot.

Saw a good feeding around 4:00 this afternoon. All were fed. Lousy weather is continuing, although the rain has slacked off very slightly. Also quite breezy. Chicks are wet, but not soaked.

:eggthumb: Do not see 85 or Niecey this view of the cams, but do see the chicks standing tall in the corner as it rains. Went back in and can see talons grasping the back wall, so assume it is Niecey and boy is it noisy with 4 chicks asking for lunch...

I haven't posted all day, but I did see three different feedings today. Am hoping that all this cool rainy weather will move out tomorrow.

Mercifully. the rain has moved out, and we are enjoying some sunshine here today. Still cool and breezy, but much better than the past two days. i have not seen a feeding yet today, but that doesn't mean there hasn't been one.

:loveheart2: I finally caught one away from the chick pile in the corner. It's lying up against the wall nearest the building. Do not see 85 or Niecey, but could hear one of them with fussy vocals. The one against the wall is showing dark feathers coming in on its wings. It just went over by the chick pile and it is huge!

I saw a feeding that ended about 20 minutes ago. The chicks had good sized crops already, but still ate. Two of them were having a real tug of prey. One was one of the big ones, and the other kind of medium sized.

:loveheart2: Niecey has them all corralled in the corner and she is standing guard.

:loveheart: Can only see the talons of an adult grasping the top of the back wall with one chick standing and looking up from the nest at them. The other three are huddled in their corner.

:eggthumb: Well at least they are sprawled out more over the nest tonight. Niecey is standing guard in the middle of them.

Shortly after noon, one of the chicks was out of the scrape on the big part of the ledge. And if you have not yet seen my friend Sue's poem about Little Dad, check the Falcon Wire. She has an incredible way with words.

I have known about this for a while, but I did not want to say anything until DEP made the public announcement. It is my understanding that the event will be a Web cast. Watch as you do to view the cams. It should be around 1:00 Harrisburg time.
