Well, both Ardy and Elaine are in/ near the Lacrosse nestbox, but it seems like they are Both in there only rarely. Elaine was in the nest box earlier, and Ardy came for a brief bonding. Elaine is in the box now, looking sleepy? Eggy? And checking out the cam lens several times…. I think she is slowly getting used to its reflection.

She may be a confirmed bachelorette - at least this year

I saw her sitting in scrape about 2.30 pm, then still at 3,
then laying down there and I thot - egg by dawn - yep - thar tis!

Unless its infertil, she was mating with someone. LOL!
Will she still go over n take prey from Newman?

Its like 2 teen agers having a baby! :girlcrazy:

7.30 am I have not seen her turn or warm the egg.
She was chirpin for brekky before dawn, Ardy didnt provide, so she flew over to GSB with Newman.

7.15 Ardy got a bird for her, chriped n chirped, no Elaine. She flew in grab prey and flew away.

Egg alone

Unknown if Ardy will tend egg if its Newman's egg

7.45 Elaine flew in and both were there.
She looked at the egg, seemed confused.

I wont be shocked if she has laid her egg #2 there.

Poor Ardy has been checking for her but not warming egg.

This probly happens in the wild - and we just dont SEE it.

LaCrosse needs another cam - PTZ outside.
