Both Alma and Genoa are part of the Dairyland Power Cooperative. As of the 2012 nesting season 85 chicks have fledged from Dairyland sites since the program began in the mid-1990s. They are both monitored by the Raptor Resource Project, http://www.raptorresource.org/.

ALMA
There are actually two nest sites at the Alma Plant, the power plant box and a natural cliff dwelling on 12 Mile Bluff across from Dairyland’s Alma Site. The birds seem to alternate from one nest to the other.
In 2012 the male at the Alma Site was identified by his U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service Band as "Speedy", from a 2009 hatch at Horizon Milling Co. in Lake City, Minn. The new female was identified as "Power." She fledged from Alliant’s Nelson Dewey plant in 2008. The new couple settled into the power plant nesting box, instead of finding a natural bluff site as Peregrine falcon pairs have done in recent years.

GENOA
2010 Lucas, the resident male arrived at the Genoa Site
2012 unbanded unnamed female arrives.
