Cam seems to be acting up...
Still no evidence of a male but Scout has been pretty active this week. There has been several times she has been vocalizing and taking flight from the ledge in what seems like an urgent manner only to come back quickly and leave again. This seems to indicate another falcon in the area but since there's been no sign of another bird on the ledge it could likely be that she is defending the territory from another female that may be around. The cams show us so much more than we'd ever have the chance to see but there's a lot that they DON'T show, too! A reminder that the cams are no substitute for eyewitness observations.

Meanwhile, the cams have been acting funny. Oh, how frustrating! The nestbox cam in particular was flashing a plain blue screen. The blue screen is usually a result of the video feed being interrupted. My theory is perhaps there is some work being done in the building that is jiggling a cable and causing a break in connection. The nestbox is also now markedly pink-toned for no apparent reason. We're in the process of troubleshooting and hope to make some adjustments to camera settings next week. Thanks for your patience!

i thought in my mind ,with the way she was echupping ,that another female was in the area. but did not want to state that becasue we could not see. I have learned not to state what I cannot see.

I was going by how Radisson and Miss Edmonton act when a female has encroached on their territory.
hopefully a male comes soon. At our sites the females usually arrive first so maybe they will not be far behind.

Thanks pearl1. Well at least they are aware of the cams acting up. Another female huh? Now another reason to worry.

Good day everyone I talked to Rosekk last night and she plans on going downtown today and tomorrow to see if she can see more than one falcon there.Hopefully she can capture some pictures today.Have a great day

Well just got home and checked in to see her sitting there, but switched to the still shot so I could get the time and date and didn't see her anymore. Can't see the ledge well enough to tell if she is there or not. Hope Rosekk gets to see something.

Hey Ijames thank you for capturing Scout on the ledge before it got too dark to see.Rosekk didn't make it downtown today but she will be there sometime tomorrow morning.I'll be keeping my fingers crossed that she can see what we can't.Have a great evening everyone
