SGB - Thank so much for the video of Polly's visit earlier today. (I know I couldn't have watched that live without having a heart attack, especially when she started poking at the chick.) Thank goodness there was no apparent damage!

If Polly is going to stick around, I sure hope she'll help out with the feeding and caring of the chicks and not create havoc in the process. I've got my fingers crossed!

there is definitely a big hole in one egg, but I think the one that seems half open is just the first egg shell half on it

Oh dear--that's not good. Hope it doesn't interfere with that egg hatching!

Yes...I'm concerned about this egg...it does appear the shell from the first hatch has made its way to this egg...lets hope somehow it can unwedge itself or Wizzz you're gonna have to go up there and fix it...(just kidding..don't think you can do that without permission)

Just a thought...if it is wedged on there, let's hope its wedged on the small end of the unhatched egg...pipping, I believe, is usually on the fat end of the egg..(very scientific verbage)

hmmmmmmmmmm...not good...if that is the shell, its on the large end of the egg...let's hope somehow it can get off of there...OK...gotta think positively!! It may be ok if the pip can start in the same location as that other egg...

Wizzz, what we've been taught is that if shell from a prior hatch wraps around an unhatched egg, it could keep that egg from hatching cause a chick can't break thru 2 shells. It might end up getting knocked off of there--hopefully!

ljames, lovely pics!!! Thanks!
May I put them directly on DEF's site with your name on it?
Yess, sure, the shell sticks on the other egg... :? :? :?
your computer went crazy unfortunately, but it was worth it 8-)
.... for me it's even worse, my pc blocks entirely, even when only looking!
I'm so sad I can't peek on Ornithology.ca!!!

Wizz, Thank you so much for the feeding video!
One question: Wouldn't it be technically possible to lower the resolution of the streaming?
Impossible to stay on your site, my computer stops working all the time....

Yes two chicks this morning!! so exciting!
Sorry I had to cut the sound yesterday, I need to restart the computer when I get to the office today...

as for the resolution, it's already pretty low - I'm keeping it at "iphone 3G" so I can watch on my phone all the time ;-)
