Hi all !
Ok I just read all the messages, will try to answer as best as I can...
I saw Polly catch a pigeon yesterday, she is more than capable to feed on her own. I have not seen the parents feed her for several months. Also yesterday, Roger brought 2 preys to Spirit, she fed the chicks with one and put the other one in storage, Polly did not try to steal or get her share. (she was right there and saw everything). This morning at 5:15 the chicks were fed with the left-overs... Most of the time when she's begging to the parents she has a full crop. I think it's just that she still has her baby instincts to scream whenever she sees a parent, you know like the young do, even after they had a meal !
I am not worried at all about her, my feeling when I am watching the 3 of them together is like watching friends. Obviously she's curious about what's going on in the nestbox, but there's nothing else to it in my opinion. I think she sees the tower and the box as a safe place where she likes to hang out, sometimes she's hunting with her parents but most of the time on her own. She comes back here after a hunt when her crop is full to rest and hang out where she knows she's safe. What's amazing is that Roger and Spirit are welcoming her.
When she was just here, Spirit did not move from the chicks and Polly did not try to come in the box, she was just curious about what was happening in there. Spirit was not afraid or nervous, nor was Roger, who came to check out what was going on...
I think we are very lucky to witness such a unique scene with the three falcons ! I hope she stays around and plays with her brothers and sisters
