Hi all !
Ok I just read all the messages, will try to answer as best as I can...

I saw Polly catch a pigeon yesterday, she is more than capable to feed on her own. I have not seen the parents feed her for several months. Also yesterday, Roger brought 2 preys to Spirit, she fed the chicks with one and put the other one in storage, Polly did not try to steal or get her share. (she was right there and saw everything). This morning at 5:15 the chicks were fed with the left-overs... Most of the time when she's begging to the parents she has a full crop. I think it's just that she still has her baby instincts to scream whenever she sees a parent, you know like the young do, even after they had a meal !

I am not worried at all about her, my feeling when I am watching the 3 of them together is like watching friends. Obviously she's curious about what's going on in the nestbox, but there's nothing else to it in my opinion. I think she sees the tower and the box as a safe place where she likes to hang out, sometimes she's hunting with her parents but most of the time on her own. She comes back here after a hunt when her crop is full to rest and hang out where she knows she's safe. What's amazing is that Roger and Spirit are welcoming her.

When she was just here, Spirit did not move from the chicks and Polly did not try to come in the box, she was just curious about what was happening in there. Spirit was not afraid or nervous, nor was Roger, who came to check out what was going on...

I think we are very lucky to witness such a unique scene with the three falcons ! I hope she stays around and plays with her brothers and sisters :-)

Thanks for your comments, Wizzz! You know them better than anyone else, so if you think there isn't a reason for concern, I'll try to stop worrying. I would also love to see her playing with her siblings. I thought when she was on the perch that if she really wanted to go into the box, she would have! She is certainly big enough to do what she wants regardless of what her parents want her to do. I find it encouraging that she didn't try to steal the food even though she knew where it was!

thanks Wizzz.

I noticed that Spirit just chupped to her this morning when she was outside.

It is so good to know that she can hunt and you saw it.

I do agree, that this is a safe place for her. You can see what we cannot.

Catwoman stated that she is probably confused and I am sure she is.

It would be fun to see her show the others the ropes ,that is for sure.

when we cannot see them anymore, we are hoping to see some pictures of the things you will be seeing
thanks fora all the reassurances.

When we cannot see , we worry. But now that you assure us that the food being brought is not being taken and we should all know, by loud how loud they can cack, sometimes for no reason.

The babies are being fed now, & Polly is again on the outside perch. She can at least get a look at the babies. Now she's gone...

Thanks Eve for your quiet and positive answers about Polly.
I'm verry happy also about her independency.
I sure hope she will be a big sister for the little ones.
Her screaming though should be a combination of excitement and curiousity, such as little ones do.

I like that!!

Nancy : it was Roger on the perch, he was screaming like a proud daddy looking at Spirit feeding the chicks :-) He does that when he brings back food...

Thanks to all - especially Wizzz - for the great pictures and reports. This is quite the distinctive falcon family to watch and become acquainted with! I'm glad to hear that Polly is able to hunt and catch food by herself, and I'm pleased to hear that she's still an accepted member of the family.

I'm hoping that she'll help out with feeding and caring for the little ones. And as they grow up and test their wings, I hope she'll help them learn to fly and hunt. It's simply amazing to be able to see the interactions here.

I loved reading your first-hand sightings, Wizzz, of what is happening in the skies as far as food being brought in and stored as well as Polly's reaction to it all. Love reading that her crop is full when she is sitting outside "crying" and that she hunts her own meals. So now we can relax and enjoy the unique happenings in Montreal!

Thanks for the correction, Wizzz! How cute! In your observations from prior years, does Spirit allow Roger to help feed the chicks at some point?

Wizzz, thank you so much for your comments and observations...I am still just so amazed to be watching this...this situation is definitely something for the books!!! I hope all this peace continues, as I can't wait to see Polly with the kids when they are older and developing their personalities..

I am just completely captured by this family, and really appreciate having Eve here to give the inside scoop. It is always a little anxious, but things continue to work out in amazing ways. The egg in the egg hatching was incredible (having seen other outcomes), and three eggs hatching successfully so far after some long off the egg time, and how they work through the family dynamics. It is just fascinating... what a learning experience!

Thanks for all the nice pictures and comments. Well I'll say one thing, Polly made what would have been an otherwise boring incubation period, exciting. She is so interesting. I expect to see her in there anytime trying to feed the chicks. Hope everything continues to go well here.
