Me too, DEF. :girlsad3: I wish falcons knew better than to nest on bridges.

IT is so bitter sweet. .I already miss these guys. . and I bet the baby does too .. He and one of the other ones always seem to "hang out" together. .

Well, let's hope Elizabeth makes a visit soon. . as far as I know, there hasn't been a feed today. . and I'm sure the baby is hungry. . looks like he's calling right now. .

There was a feed early this morning, between 6 and 6:30, but he's probably hungry again...

Thanks for watching today sgb. I have to run out and pick up my baby birds, and I'll posts pics tonight. Elizabeth was 3 ft in front of me staring at me. There is no bigger thrill in the world than these awesome creatures!

Here's some photos from today at JRB. I'll post some tomorrow from the other bridge. Elizabeth and JJ were both there dive bombing, but Elizabeth was really getting close (Shawn forgot to bring head protection). She is an awesome falcon! We took two girls and a boy, and I forgot to get the band numbers. We banded them at the other bridge later. The box is at the top of the bridge. There is an office and a couple of guys work there. They love the falcons, but not the kind who would watch them when they fledge. Up a couple of flights of stairs, then an elevator to the top, the box is off the room on the top. I took a pic from bridge level so you can see it. Not many boats under, and Shawn thinks they may be falling on the bridge not in the river. No matter what, it is better to get them out of there. I met the NPS ranger with all 6 chicks halfway to the hack site. Got his card, and he has promised to send me pics and update me. Very nice guy. It was sad seeing the little one hovering with all his siblings (he is always out front in the pics, so cute and daring!), but he will be joining a falcon family at a safe site. Shawn is fearless to go up the ladder when the elevator doesn't work. You can't believe how high it is, 3 stories. Totally crazy. I will post a few pics of Shawn from the other bridge.

nice shots oxbarb.
I am glad the wee one will be going to a safe nest.

Gord had great success with his hack last year. he will be out looking to see if any more nesting along the banks of River.

Barb. . those pics are fantastic!!! I am so happy to hear that JJ was also there, little devil.. and what great news that the baby will be going to a "safe" nest. . do we know when?

I know its the best thing for the kids, but I always feel so bad for the parents. they've invested so much time and energy into eggs, then kids. . If they only could understand that its for the safety of their kids. .

oh. . and for the record. .I said 2 boys and 2 girls .. hee hee .. first time I've ever been right!!!

The pics are awesome, obxbarb! It was so interesting to see where the box is located and to read about how you get there. Would it be possible to get the band numbers from Shawn?

OMG, that video is so cute! It is a happy little baby. :egg17:
And what does a baby normally do when the mom shows her back? …It turns into a stamping sumo wrestler. :egg11: This baby has a good time, even on his own. He has been through a lot and is entitled to some quality time. These moments make him into a good falcon who knows how to love and will surely show that in the future.
That's my wish, o yes it is
