Really cool story here I wonder who this one is they say the band # is 22/b but it looks more like 22/AE to me what do you think?

Thanks for posting that Kittenface, very interesting and gorgeous pics! I passed it along to Kathy Clark. The silver federal band would mean it's not a jersey bird, but it's always great to find out where a bird came from! :thumbup

Kathy sent me this link (completely forgot about this site): http://ccb-wm.org/vafalcons/sightings/falcon_band_search.htm

No record for a 22/AB, but there was a 22/AE from Mass, a female! I remember AE being used for females down here in 2010 (the 4 JC girls were 00-04/AE). So I'm guessing the one in the article was born that year as well (Kathy thought this bird might've been sighted that fall in the Wildwood area too). Certainly is a beautiful girl!! :thumbup

Thanks for that info, Mike. .

Also, if you "strike out" with that data base, you can also check the Midwest Data base. Looking at the state list, it does not include the Mass birds, but its a great resource for many other states/Canada. .

Hurricane sandy update: I haven't heard from Mike, but I am fine 25 miles north of NYC. News footage of Jersey City showed the areas where we watch under water. There is no train or bus service. I'm sure Athena and Six hunkered down somewhere. The building guys will let us know when they see them again.

Just checked my texts. Mike is ok, no power though. He has heard that it is very bad in Jersey. Building guys have very serious problems I am sure. It won't be possible to contact for a few weeks.

Good to hear that you are okay Bonnie and Mike too.
The images we get to see in the news are horrifying, it will take quite some time to get back to normal in those areas.
In many places I noticed there is hardly any coastal defence, maybe it's time to call in the Dutch? They are the best of the best when it comes to building dykes and other kinds of protection against the raging seas.
And maybe now is the moment to put all those power lines in the ground . . . just saying . . .

Thanks for the updates Bonnie. Glad to hear you and Mike are ok. I haven't heard much about JC on the news, but Hoboken is a disaster and given its proximity to the water, I'm sure JC doesn't look any better.
