:15heartbeat: They are getting closer to calling it.

Jan 27, 5:45 PM
gretchen_AEF (Admin): SUNDAY Tuck-In: Arriving at the Hamlet tonight prior to 5pm we had an empty nest. Checking the area we found two drenched eagles perched at the LYT (Lumber Yard Tree). They soon took off in the nest direction, and I believe both landed there. As rain-soaking-wet as they were, it's hard to ID them. We do know that Samson likely returned to the nest today. His signature middle toe is a "give-away". I don't think this will be the last time we will see Romeo & Juliet's (most likely) off-spring, Samson!

:15heartbeat: Sam is back!
January 28, 2019 rain seems gone, GOOD!
cam 1 down, cam 2 sluggish
radar - https://www.wunderground.com/weather/us/fl/jacksonville

After all day pouring rain Sonday, all the eagles are drenched poor things!
It appeared last nite like 2 eagles would overnite in the tree.
Samson, son of R&J is back and he is a very sweet eagle.
OK, Yeah I am all in on Sam!

6 am I *might* see one eagle perched up above nest and one underneath,
but cam 3 is so full of raindrops its impossible to be sure

6.40 am Eagle calls, second eagle replies and I see one fly to branch near nest - cam 3
Chuckling, Missy's scolding sound, peeping (peeping?), I hear the Missy shake
6.53 pm Cam 2 found Missy perched and squawking
Looks like she's already starting to dry off a bit - another good shake
I hear another eagle chuckling

RRP has lots of pics

"jd_AEF (Moderator): The way the beak is moving to the vocals I believe that would be A2.
Jan 28, 12:56 PM
jd_AEF (Moderator): Another eagle hiding behind the branch
Jan 28, 1:09 PM
jd_AEF (Moderator): 7:06 am They take off, likely chasing those hawks away"

:thanku :hapdance: Woo hoo….Samson is back. I hope and pray that he stays and holds this territory. So many eagles just hanging around in the area and we only know they are still around when they once again show up in the nest tree. A2 sure has a lot of boyfriends.

Lil Chief Sam
Jan 28
1 pm Samson is in nest. He is so sweet
He and Missy seem comfy with each other
This is Sam's natal nest, he's home. He shows an interest in nesting.
Missy was fed fish by Papa Romeo so she feels ownership
I believe we have our pair! :15heartbeat:

5.15 pm Both arrive quietly and root around in nest
Did one bring a stick?
They are behaving like a pair. Its so cute!
They kissed! LOL! :15heartbeat:

Ferez - I lilke it! The chief!

:penguin: :spingirl:

They are home! Hope they spend the night next to each other on a branch. Can't wait to see how they treat one another. Will Samson show interest in her now and is she still as interested in him? :flirty:

They are both in the nest now. So he flew down to her from the branch. They are doing nestorations. She is picking about and moving stuff on the floor and he is dragging a branch to reposition on the rail. :15heartbeat:

Can see from mods notes they were doing this earlier too.

Samson went back to his branch and she remained in the nest. After awhile, once again he flew to the nest to join her. I saw her do a little beaking and he did not retreat. In a bit he flew back to his branch and eventually she flew to a separate branch. Mod has posted pics from today and in one, Samson seems to beak her!!

They remain on their separate limbs. She's to the left of nest and can be seen on cam 2 and he's to the right of nest on cam 3, but difficult to see till he moves.

jd_AEF (Moderator): Good early morning!

As of 1:30 am Samson remains tucked on Wallenda branches and A2 on Sunset branch. All is very quiet.

jd_AEF (Moderator): 2:30 update:
All still very quiet and peaceful...no one moving as A2 and Samson enjoy a dry and calm night of sleep in the pine!
