From AEF Mod:

Jan 30, 4:19 PM
jd_AEF (Moderator): 5:17 pm A2 and Samson arrive at the nest

From me: At this time I saw A2, but thought the other one was not Samson, but the guy who has been visiting all afternoon. They have them leaving @ 5:20.

Edit to add: Loza's pics above are from 16:56 and not what I am talking about right now.

Eagle has returned and is not Samson, but one of the visitors.

Mod agrees.

jd_AEF (Moderator): 5:36 pm Eagle arrives at nest...not A2 or Samson

I think mod may have thought this one was Samson when it arrived with A2 a few minutes ago, but I think this is who arrived with A2. At least she left and didn't come back with him. I have not seen any eagle this afternoon or eve with Samson's distinct head speckles.

Loza, I am seeing last pics above and this is who I thought was A2 and the visitor, not Samson.

Thanks loza!! I watched your video and this is who the mod said was A2 and Samson, that left @ 17:20, but it is not. This is A2 and the visitor eagle who I said earlier "ate his Wheaties" He has an aggressive demeanor to me! He has been arriving and leaving with the "dusty-headed" eagle all afternoon, except when he was with A2 in your pics and vid above. I really hope all remain safe tonight!

:teehee: It does for him @ least. I just found this video titled: "Slow Motion Cloacal Kiss" by Juanita Roper. And much to my surprise, it just so happens to be of my favorite osprey couple known as "Rachel and Steve" who reside @ Hog Island, Maine for the nesting season. Right now they are in South America for the winter, but live separate during this period. We sure hope they return again this year in April. It only lasts a little over a minute, so watch till the end. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fEDRm_YHZms

They are saying this is A2 sleeping on cam 2 right now. She looks absolutely "worn out". Her head is not tucked as usual, it is hanging!

Jan 30, 7:52 PM
gretchen_AEF (Admin): WEDNESDAY Tuck-In: At this time A2 is in view on Cam 2 all tucked and in partial view on Cam 1 (as far as the cam will show). At 5:30pm Samson and A2 had just left the nest and 3 eagles were above flying and then soaring. Then there were 4. It was likely Samson, A2, and the 2 eagles that visited the nest at least twice today. Perhaps Samson will show up yet tonight, as he's a late arrival at times. Tomorrow it's anybody's guess who we will see, but likely eagles will bring smiles! SED Y'all

I think Samson is being smart and not getting into any tassels . He is letting them all pass through. bu t if he wants this nest next season he will take it . That i s my opinion. ( supposed to be unplugged, but came to see what was up. now going undercover again Lol)

Not calm yet!
January 31, 2019
3 am Missy perched on nest side
4 am she is laying in the nest - she looks exhausted!
It was very exciting to see them mate yesterday!

I did ear-witness a kerfuffle of eagles yesterday (Jan 30)
screamin n flappin n raisin dust
It seemed to me Sam and Missy are defending their nest against several other eagles

SWINWK, thank you for the - kiss! I'll keep using - mating! LOL

bev, this is Sam's nest. He will keep it. :15heartbeat:

They just made their correction. Same eagle as yesterday!!

Jan 31, 5:38 AM
jd_AEF (Moderator): Looks like same eagle we saw yesterday

She was not calling for Samson, she saw this one coming and it was an alert call!! He landed in the nest with her, but she was already to the rail alerting.

She remains on the rail showing her displeasure with occasional alert calls and he has left the nest to perch on a branch. Not a good start to the day. If Samson is out there, he is not responding.

6.30 am INTRUDER IN NEST - Missy screaming like a banshee
Intruder begins cleaning up the nest, trying to create an egg hole
It keeps sneezing - must be very dusty - no new grasses, moves out to a branch
Missy keeps screaming, perched on side of nest

7.45 Missy has talon injuries - look fresh
This male is persistent - and he wants to fix the nest
