I am consonantly amazed by these two.

:flirty: M15 just brought a headless fish to the nest for Harriet who was already there! She's enjoying it now!

:girlsad3: Crow report on E14 (a male):

E14 Necropsy Report

The liver tissue of E14 from the Southwest Florida Eagle Cam nest, a male eaglet, was found to contain markedly increased levels of brodifacoum, a type of anticoagulant rodenticide or rat poison.

Anticoagulant rodenticides, or rat poisons, prevent the blood from clotting normally and cause an animal that has ingested a toxic amount to bleed to death. Rodents that ingest the poison often become disoriented or lethargic as they are dying and become easy prey for eagles, hawks, owls and other predators, passing the poison through the food chain. Sadly, it is not uncommon for apparently healthy raptors to test positive for low levels of rodenticides, which have not yet reached the point of causing toxicity and illness. The adults in the nest likely have chronic exposure to rodenticides from the same food sources, but are not currently suffering any ill effects due to their larger body size compared to the affected baby.
E14 never had a chance.

That is great - I think. After hearing the results of E14’s necropsy I am a little scared. Hopefully that was a one time occurrence. I will note the calendar! :newegg: :flirty:

I agree gigi. a little nervous about pesticides but will pray for this site. :7val: :7val:

I have been watching her for last couple of days and had no time today. I think most of us knew this was going to happen . maybe this means the same for Berry nest.

Proud Papa M15 Sees New Egg #3 For The First Time & Incubates! 2.21.2020

It did not take M15 long to return to the nest with some grasses and lo and behold - there is a little surprise for him!! He sees his new egg and gets to incubate - something he loves to do! A short time later, Harriet returns to the nest and both Harriet and M stand in the nest together - proud parents to be!
Both Harriet and M15 never gave up hope of re-clutching and now they get to start the season over again. I wish them many blessings as they care for their new egg. Harriet may lay a second egg in about 3 days! Thank you for watching!

:flirty: I think M15 was just incubating and Harriet was on the branch. M15 flew and came back to the nest with a fish for Harriet who grabbed it! He's a keeper!!

:flirty: Will be curious to see if she lays another egg. Remember reading that many times the 2nd clutch has less eggs laid than the 1st.
