1:46p M flies off from pond. 1:47p H shimmies in the bowl back up again. 1:49p M to the attic, drops to nest, both move materials, aerate. 1:51p H to the veranda, to the attic.

2:48p H flies off E, M follows. Soaring high to the NE flying W and out of sight. One may have landed on the tall power pole NW. 2:55p Grt Egret trolls the pond.

4:22p H drops to the nest. Moves nesting, aerates. 4;26p H to veranda, attic. To the outer attic by M Bonding. H foots M showing dominance.

At 16:43, both are on the outer attic.

6:20p Day to night passes quickly with a number of H teasing us in the nest events. Sticks, nesting and bonding. H/M settled on the outer attic. Roadkill rabbit was the food today. We hope for an egg soon. Sleep safe eagle family.

Snake for breakfast at 10:21. Mod updates:

10:43a M to the attic, H moves closer, bonding. H shows dominance footing M. 10:46a H to pond. 10:54a M flies off the attic. H flies from the pond to the OCT. Food Today: Prey-1 (snake).

1:25p M in with grass, moves sticks, works in the bowl. 1:28p M to the outer attic via the veranda, hops out farther. Food Today: Prey-1 (snake).

4:05p H finishes eating, to the veranda, feaks. Up to the attic, over to the outer branch. 4:12p H moves to the U branch. 4:16p Anhinga on pond pylon.

6:30p Night time arrives as H and M perch on the outer attic. It was another day of protecting the area, adding nesting and sticks. All are ready for Eggs. Food Today: Prey-2 (Black racer snake, Heron) Sleep safely Eagle Family.

Harriet and M15 remain on the outer attic at 8:25 pm.

FIRST EGG
December 16, 2020 about 5.30 pm

SWFLC is calling the egg as laid at 16:58. First good look of the egg is at 17:00. From what I could tell, M15 was on the attic at the time. Saw his talons come into view on the nest at 17:50 and you know how he is and he didn't disappoint as he got closer and aerated in front of Harriet's head, then some nibbles at her beak and face and she moved and he went in to have a good look-see! :teehee:

Harriet is standing above her egg at 19:40 and they said M15 went to a front pine earlier. He'll probably be back at least on the tree before the night is over.

6:30pm. The journey begins again. Harriet laid Egg 1 for Season 9 at 4:58pm, 12-16-20. M15 came to the nest for his first look, later flew to the front pine. Food Today: Fish/Partial Fish-1, Prey-2 (squirrel, rabbit). Sleep safely Eagle Family.

Well M15 did come back, but not quite for the reason I thought above that he would. Check out the pond cam at 21:52 and you will see M15 in hot pursuit of a MUCH larger bird than he. They come from left to right and you have to look close to see M15, but he's hanging in there, then they circle back and split off at about the tree and M15 comes back and lands on the attic with alerts. Harriet alerts also. M15 alerted for several minutes after and watched to the left. He is on the outer attic currently at 12:12 am.

M15 just left incubation duties and Harriet on the nest at 11:40. Mod updates:

10:21a M up standing over egg, repositions, rolls egg, settles down, resumes incubation. Back up to place rail stick 10:24a Back , nudges egg, shimmies back down, incubating.

On the nest:Harriet
11:41a M flies off the attic NNW. 11:43a H flies off, back to the nest, watching N and overhead a bit. To the bowl, checks the egg, stands over it. 11:46a H shimmies down then back up again. Moves nesting, down and up.

3:24p M to the treetop perch, H vocal. 3:25p H to the attic via the veranda, vocal. To outer branch. 3:27p M drops to the nest, aerates, down to incubate.
