Maybe it's good DC doesn't come for a bonding session. Poor Beauty would probably face plant with that crop. Wonder why she sat at the corner for 20 minutes before moving forward!

Having flashbacks to 1986 and Little Shop Of Horrors - "Feed Me, Feed Me Now!"

Lol..that was funny mw! She was stuffed and if she's getting lethargic like they do before egg laying..perhaps she just needed to compose herself there for awhile. Or maybe she knows we're watching and didn't want us to see her 'waddle' :teehee:

Uh oh..she heard us...shhhh!

In your picture, looks like she had some chest work done.. Wonder how much peregrine plastic surgery costs? A Wing and a Leg?

OMG where is my mind going....

She looks like a famous pregnant reality star who has some front and back, except Beauty is much prettier!

Yep. He stayed on cam 4 the entire time, waiting for her, then greeted her goodnight.

Very interesting this past couple days....Maybe the boarded up area was "his" scrape!
At any rate, happy to see the progress here....brings back good memories of last season and hope for many little "Orions" this year!!!

When I look at pictures of falcons (females), I often see white tips on their tail feathers.

Is this just with females, or do the males have the white tips also?

Hey MW- I've seen the white tips on both male and female Peregrines. Pigott has it and BST the unbanded male that hung out with her this past winter had them. :hithere:

Its probably not the same for all peregrines, but what I had read is that adults have the white stripe at the end of their tail feathers, & the stripe for juvies is beige. That's the way we identified the youngster at Orange when his back was to us.

Yes catwoman, Orion had the beige tail feather tips. :peace

Hi MW! I think it's so interesting how DC changed after the scrape at BS was blocked off. It's like someone turned on a switch. I'm ecstatic that he's paying so much attention to Beauty finally but I don't like to see Pigott left alone so much. I sure wish they both had their own mate. I predict an egg by Monday morning! There, how's that for chiming in!?

1:30am - B has been sitting on the beam in front of box for hours. She jumps up to top of cam 4, then she takes off for a minute at 1:11. She returns to the other side of main cam, then makes her way back to beam. It starts raining really hard or maybe even a little hail. Looks like it's getting windy too. B let out a little "AH", and got in the box. She's currently perched on the front lip.

I notice, when she sleeps, she lets out a chup or peep peep every now and then. Wonder if falcons dream? I know dogs do...

I think it's amazing to be able to watch a falcon sleep and to hear her vocalizations during the night..

2:20 - B still on front lip of box. Looks like rain stopped.

Time for me to shut down...

Will look forward to updates from tomorrow AM!

Beauty just flew. Now I hear DC, protecting the nestbox in Beauty's absence. :flirty:

DC was just in the box during a bit of scraping. Now he's perched on the lip of the box.
