Dec 3 at 5 am he was sleeping at the nest site!
I've seen him off n on for days

8 am a young lady arrived. I'd say she's a 4 year old.
Black spot on her head and several in her tail. Mebbe I'll call her Dot. *snicker*
At first he didnt seem interested. She kept coaxing him and he tried to mate in the nest.
She may never have mated before, she didnt appear receptive.

After dark Dec 3
They have both been around all day today - not cozy tho
She wants the nest but she doesnt appear to like mating

I remember many juvies passed thru in passed years

I watched him this morning.
He flew into his nest - took a look at the snow,
said - NUTS TO THIS!

Wow! Hanover got LOTS more snow than the arboretum.
I think arboretum nest *may* be icy - hard to tell.
Only saw the 2 eagles briefly today

Ice is NOT romantic :biggrin:

Yesterday I saw a new eagle - strip of white feathers on chest
Visitors often stop by then move on at this nest site
They fuss with their nest and mate but not around much

Thats Streak - he was there an hour before dawn today
The regular male has no streak down his chest - unless he was in a fight?

Dot must have just passed thru. My guess is she wont breed til next year.
I saw her a few weeks ago
