Yes, the feathers are actually curly (in fact we called her Curly after she hatched). This is the only nest that we, in our experience of watching many peregrine nests, have seen curly feathers. 2 of the 3 chicks last year had curly feathers. I borrowed one of SGB's earlier captures so you can see what it looks like. See the difference between the feathers of the one in the middle & the other 2? They aren't as "different looking" in this picture as they were earlier on, but its easier to see here. (They also have a yellowish tinge.)

Carolyn, I'm so glad you caught that...I saw it, but my recorder was elsewhere...here's what followed: Somebody landed on the next ledge (missed that pic) and then Spark comes in. Stays briefly on the ledge, visits the box, then back to the ledge and leaves..I wonder if it was a food transfer because he had a feather stuck to his beak..

Actually, when this same thing happened last year, I (and I think others) researched this...REALLY difficult to find any info.

It looks like both kids are on the next ledge..and just like the good old days, they're screaming for food.

Cams are back..but it took the ledge cam a long time to load..

10:02am - Both cams on (nobody home/quiet) - took a looooong time to load both - and...just in case, I refreshed a couple of times.
