stress o f having a new mom. she did 2 iffy feedsand2 got fed each time. but i think same 2

hoping DO1 would come in and feed again there is prey under kids

it is killing me . too much all at once.

letting everyone know. Cam will be off from about 10am till noon. Emergency work has to be done on roof. they were kind enough to wait till eggs hatched.

no worries, Gord will be there with incubator for chicks. cam may even be anchored better. It will be stressful for adults but cannot be helped.

yes, we have been monitoring the feeds as yesterday only 2 got fed each time

so the chicks will be fed and kept in incubator , while this is going on. if any appear weak, may go for a holiday for a few days to get fattened up.

she gets better with each feed but her mom only had one chick her first nest at U of A

they are there . I hear Do1. I always feel bad for the adults but at least this is controlled and cannot be helped.

yes, I mentioned earlier.all 4 hatched out within a 20.5 hour time period. Gord says this was just a great sign for Green girl, as with our bad weather at beginning and then heat, it could have been days apart.

however first feed for 3 was was 18 hours later ( that was O.k. as we know they. . can go 24 hours) DO1 did this feed

next feed was not till 2:32pm june9. still O.K. but only 2 got fed out of 4 . Green was bewildered at first. we have all watched and cringed at first timers. LOL believe me when I say my hair is much grayer

another small feed at 4:08pm june10- still for 2 only

so no other feed till 5:19am JUne10. and only 3 fed

another feed 8:30am june1o - still just 3.

I and a few who have been watching with me, felt the wee on e had not eaten. It was over 24 hours since he /she was born.

so upon consulting , and discussion , if one , or morewas found weak, it would be taken for a few days to be fattened up . I am waiting to hear, but I do not pester. I wait to be contacted, which I will be .

We want Green to be successful and not struggle at first. she is getting better each time, as they all do, but 4 is a handful at the best of times

so no worries. we continue to monitor

Bev, I was not worried. With Gord there at the nest. He would do what is best for chicks. And everthing you said is right on. With the best hack site in the North America, I would not worry. :) Even if he takes another one out at the time of banding.

I think this one is coming back here, and I forgot to mention that if you look, he left 2 quail in box for Green girl.
