Bev was the female voice and came up after the chicks were off to the side of the nest with the bander. Light top, looking down at the chicks

2 Males! That's great...boys seem to have an easier time :)

Looking forward to seeing everyone tonight. I put an message on the Alberta Birders and Alberta Wildlife facebook groups. Telling people what Fledgewatch is and where the first meeting is this evening. See if it can kick up any volunteers. Hope the banding goes smoothly. See you soon!

Just as they took over the last chick over to the bander, Bev said "this is a male right"
She has a black sweater on , over her light coloured blouse.

man, I forgot cam was on with sound. good thing I did not use bad language. LOL

anyhow, I did not have to go up but they said peter and I could . I really wanted to get a good look at flashing and ledge . Jean was below taking pictures from below. My friend texted us to let us know a kid had come out of box.. Green and Do1 were flying awesome

so we have 2 males( one big male) and 1 female
I had them color code them as well

Male- B over 32(yellow tape)

Male - B over 35( blue tape)

Female - N over 41( black tape)

So you see we less of roof and more of outside. so i guess if Green keeps going on cam, we will still see inside of box. you can see a bit of baby gate on left side so they do not go onto roof of building till they are bigger. this is either better fo r my nerves or later

So we have a meeting tonight but Peter will download camera ad i will do up as soon as i can

the bander brought his Harris hawk along as he does airport petrol with it. It was gorgeous .

and if you go to Bell I have some news

camera is down

our cam man was at banding so he should be back in Edmonton now and will work on getting cam back. It is computer problem, so not one he can do remotely.

here is a slideshow set to music of the banding at WEber. The kids were really chilled out. they could care less

if you look at the picture with the 3 ,you can tell by feet the males form female . remember these guys were all born withing 11 hours of each other thus the size , it will change as they grow more. one guy just went on its back. that is a defense mechanism. There are a few views of box and then the Bander had his Harris hawk in hi struck. just gorgeous. And then to end the party, a flock of pelicans flew over. What a time.

I know some clean out nest boxes at this time, but the way ours are situated and given how low the falcons came, could not be done.

I will post a few photos also.

these guys are trying to stay cool

They are grabbing at food and trying to self feed. They are like butchers.

well I am getting concerned here. no feed since 8:23am It is warm , very warm and usually they will not feed too much i8n heat but U of A has had 3 smaller feeds since morning. I am not sure what problem is.
Green is a good hunter. Has to be to have made it this far. I know Do1 is a good hunter.

I will be carefully monitoring next few days. I have little time but ...... the problem becomes , they get over zealous and like vultures , when food does come one may gt knocked off.
