Yes, Come Home Now Ozzie!!!

No further reports. One of the ladies from the ground crew was going to give an update after she left the site @ 8:50 tonight, but hasn't done so as yet. I know I will not be awake for the dawn visit, hope some of you will be. Stay rested and safe Ozzie. Glad you are home!

Ozzie's biggest fan
After Ozzie was released on Wednesday, dozens of bird watchers showed up to his nest -- hoping he would fly home. Those watchers included one woman who many tote as Ozzie's biggest fan.

Desiree Deliz drives from Miami every weekend to watch Ozzie and the other birds. That's a two and a half hour drive.

Deliz, by far, has the biggest lens to snap pictures of Ozzie and his friends. She may even have the most unique outerwear for eagle watching.

"Her shirts. She makes fancy shirts out of her photos. That's all her work," bird watcher Wilbur Cheney said.

Deliz and many others stayed late Wednesday night. We were unable to see Ozzie come home.

Experts say Ozzie is more likely to fly home at dusk or in the morning.

I have to put in my 2 pennies worth. I have watched Hand O since the cameras went live. Oz has always went on a summer vaction without H. Is this what is happening, anyones guess. Or , is it like E4K site this year were a new male came and mated with the female, then was run off by another male. 3 weeks later the male returns. He may have been injured and knew he need to get well, to come back and defend his nest.

All of us should just be happy that Oz is free, and with his bands he may be seen again somewhere.

Thanks skygirlblue! Bonbon, she is not the same person, however both are very loyal, Ozzie and Harriet followers that monitor and document from the site! They not only keep us updated through the season, but without them we would see very little once the cams are shut down for the season, usually in May, I believe. Hope there is a sighting of Ozzie today! Here's the latest posted from mod:

Essec09: Ground update starting at 10:51am: Harriet is at "Yonder pond" - vocalized a little. No one else in sight though (TripleJ/Jeff/StacyB); 11:19am Harriet is soaring way up in the clouds in the area now between the church and the shopping center then left the area (Stacy/Jeff). Wskrsnwings checked "Bob's" place. No eagles seen on poles (GregH).

Surely Ozzie sees his woman " soaring way up in the clouds" from wherever he is positioned!!!

I am so happy they have a large ground crew there at the site. Sad that WSK was not at the release. But, TV cameras bring in the donations for everyone. I would have loved to hear her talking him out of the carrier...lol

Don't know if it's 'wskrnwings'... but I've followed her YouTube videos all season - What a Delight! And Urdognu is another loyal follower and documenter (online only, I believe)... regardless - I learned more about eagles and their behavior this year from them than most people forgot!!!~)

FROM GENTLEMAN ON FB THAT IS PART OF GROUND CREW:

6/18 Harriet flew in around 1pm and went to the west pasture treeline She was their when I left at 4pm. Our ground crew is at the nest early in the am and most of the day. Last night we had several peeps go back to the nest and stay until after 8pm. We have been monitoring the yonder pond and the hiding places that Oz and Harriet might go to. We don't know all of them but we do know a few. I will keep you all updated of any changes.
