Thanks Bev...I was just reading that update on their FB page...YIKES...here's the explanation and the 2 vids...

I happened to be at the nest area. I waned to see if I could spot the intruder. Did I ever! I spotted Taylor just soaring around and then all of the sudden another took after him in a chase. Taylor and this eagle flew around for some time. I spotted another eagle, presumably female, with a dark band on the end of the tail feathers. We have seen one like this before. Blair took after that eagle. Not long after, Taylor came diving into the nest and was calling loudly, and the intruder came in with Taylor as the target. Both eagles with cart wheeling off the nest and to the ground. I figured they would just get up and fly away. After several minutes of waiting I drove up to the nest tree and saw them locked on the ground with the intruder on top of Taylor! He definitely has the upper hand, and Taylor was in deep trouble. I chose to walk in and get them apart. After breaking a couple branches the intruder back off just enough to break them up. After I backed up the road, I could see them perched downstream side by side. I assumed it was Blair & Taylor reunited. They flew off and flew across the highway northeast. I drove over there to see if I could spot anything. There was one eagle perched, and I have no idea which it was. I am sure the intruder isn't far off and it could be him.

and BAlir is lying in nest as if ready to lay an egg. Now we need to see Taylor.

I am heart sick right now. Poor Taylor. I am so glad someone was there to break them up. I would have done the same. TAylor did appear to fly out very low but his wings looked good. We have seen some vicious falcon fights and they reappear. Come on Taylor.

I am already ready to throw in the towel this year.

Well they are both on the branch right now, (I hope its Blair & Taylor)

It's got to be close to egg-laying time... fingers crossed...

Added: I don't think Taylor has been back to the nest since the altercation...
8:31am - Blair has been on the nest for several minutes. The IM (Intruding Male????) was perched above the nest and flew off (i.e., not on cam) a few minutes ago.

Day After The Attack
On my drive this morning all I saw were Blair on the side branch and the New Male on the front branch. No other eagles were in sight.

12:18pm (eastern time) According to chat, Taylor has not returned to nest. Blair(???) is perched on the tree and is occasionally calling... I think she(?) has been there most of the morning.

i watched video on ground voer and over. . Taylor was on his back because that is way they went off nest , but IM was not getting in any blows at the point we saw, I think he was trying to unlock talons and Taylor was bobbing as he was trying to get upright. I watched him fly away, and he was low but appeared O.k. AS with falcons we have watched, they . sometimes stay away a day or so and then return.

fingers crossed but this nest needs a break.

I haven't had much time today, but did just check the cams and chat (10:16 pm eastern)

From what I could tell from chat, Taylor still hasn't been seen today...Currently IM (intruder male) is perched above the nest..and Blair hasn't made an appearance in quite some time..chat words, not mine so I really don't know what that means..

Bev., I'm with you..The nest has exceeded its quota for drama...They really need a break. Those kids need a break...Talon needs a break...the loyal followers of that nest need a break...WE need a break..

I just pray Taylor is ok and hasn't been scared off. He didn't look injured in the vid, but it was such a short segment, who knows. Hopefully, he and Blair are just regrouping!!

Just quickly checked the chat... Taylor still has not been seen on cam.
I wonder if the IM (Intruder Male) could be "Mister" from last season?

Blair Still Nesting
Blair brought in material again this morning twice that I know of. She also brought a branch. The video shows a fly in over the field behind the cam. The Intruder Male (IM), or New Male (NM) is still here and no sighting this morning of Taylor.

I've (tried to) watch the cam several times today (green screen here eek! ); chat has indicated that sounds heard yesterday and today could be Blair and IM mating.
Also, an eagle was on one of the perching branches approx. 1:30pm -ish (eastern time) and stayed for approx. 10 minutes. S/he was very watchful - looking all over the area. Chat was not able to I.D., i.e., Blair/IM/New Eagle???

just my opinion, but I really think there has been a double take over here.
It was Taylor bringing in most of nest materials and now this female, is bringing in lots. just so puzzling.

They showed closeups of eye as a marker, that it is Blair, but I am not as convinced.

Blair was seen from the ground, by Talon, chasing another female the day TAylor was attacked.

I guess time will tell.

I just want to see eggs this year for the kids at this site

I don't know Blair or Taylor well enough to know who I'm looking at, sad to say...My :15heartbeat:

will always be with Larry and Lucy..(especially Lucy)...but, that doesn't mean I'm not rooting for Blair and Taylor...mainly, I'm rooting for eggs and eaglets here!!! That's kinda why I've only been a casual observer this year!!

My heart belongs to Larry and Lucy as well. I like to think of them still together. Lucy was smart and knew when to bow out. Larry was her hero. I know well how nature goes but it also has so many miracles and happy endings.

I know Taylor could turn up again like last year but all I want is little bobbles here also. I wonder sometimes if that carcass that they feed off of, brings in strays. ( but it saved Lucy. )
