we were there for over 5 hours today. left at 9pm . we were concerned as male looked a bi t different and they have been upset. well male appears to be the same.

pictures from cam at 1:51pm has picked up a feather

Emmy sent me pciutres form this evening when we were there and they are about the same . so same bird( great teamwork)

But at about 3:30pm . a male landed on SE aerial and then another male cam e in fast and chased it out . so there has been a third falcon around and that is why they have probably been acting differently last few days.

still trying to get full band but we persevere.

well it has been a year from heck this year. fights galore.

we knew something was not quite right, that is why we went down yesterday. but after third falcon was chased off( no real altercation) I figured good.
green and B72 bonded in box and all was good

here he was today

and he and green bonded at 11:36am

I never thought too much about it , when she was around all afternoon as she was ready to lay egg and then laid egg . Did not seem out of sorts.

but at 7:51pm, a big unbanded male came to box. seemed quite at home. so Peter and I rushed down there, and Emmy was by the phone.

yes, an unbanded male is there and no sign of B72. we scoured the area. new guy was very comfortable and went to B72's stash, even though he had a full crop. Green girl was not there and flew in from the north west after a bit. She went straight to box. This male is big and he flew around area and stayed by front of box.

so we will see if this is it, or if B72 will be back. but this guy, is acting like he is the New Guy in town

the one thing in Green girls favor is that this is first egg, he will bring food gifts to court her, and they will canoodle. It will be a wait and see. Poor Green Girl. the second year in a row this has happened.

I do not have time to really think about it, we have to watch and wait.

I am still trying to sort it all out here. I do not think it is over yet. But our male here is in and out an d sleeps in side and brings prey to box and goes out with it. He i s a patient guy.
hopefully I will have it sorted out tomorrow

general report( short)

will write up all 5 tonight.

busy day. hoping for calm at Agrium.

New male at Weber is fixated with box. that is good. as long as he huts. really puzzled how B72 just poofed. we had been watching form ground. will go there again today.but I have so many shores :girlcrazy:

expect egg anytime now at bell and U of a .Will be in Bell area fo r family function Thursday and Friday so hope to take a look see Hard nest to scope out
Genesee seems to be doing nicely so far( fingers crossed)

I really think the late return of birds is what is causing havoc. some would think , maybe because of falcon recovery, but we are still not that high in numbers. fingers crossed all around. I need som e calm incubating so I can get my own stuff done LOL

we were down at weber observing for a few hours. Emmy was manning the cams and texted us.
We were there when it was laid, but while we were there another male falcon came in . New male was on the W and this one flew right up. They both flew out south, . no altercation that we saw. just a chase. While he was gone , Green girl came out and ate her gift form new male.

not long after that she went back into box and it was not long after , sh e laid egg2. so these eggs will be B72's. any others will be new guys.

so this new male has no bands. He is very interested in box and egg. We saw a canoodle on ledge by box( high ledge) . He is quite large and when he flew back in after the chase, it was impressive, low dives and dippy doodling.

yesterday was not a nice day. the females started off early. first Charlotte in nest , then N53, twice. Poor Bill did not know which way was up.

at 11:48am, N53 was in box with Bill, she went out, must have heard Charlotte and when she went to stiringer, Charlotte flew down on her form roof. fight in stringer.

We could not see after that, but I am sure fight continued well into afternoon

i think we have had a winner for the nest. Unfortunatwly there appears to be a looser. I sent the picture to Bev. Someone let me know if we have seen a male and a female in the nest after 10am this morning.
