thanks westend. I am hoping baby got some when it went by mom at corner, and hope there was another feed this morning, earlier. but cam had already rest, so I could not see. I think chick may be stuck to eggshell |

Chick #4 is free of its shell and currently being adjusted by Radisson....a lot! This one looks so tiny and pink compared to the 3 older chicks. *fingers crossed* |

Thanks Gord or whom ever was at the box. Took out new baby. I have not seen it move for awhile. :( Radisson is still on alert. Must be Gord there, she knows him well. |

u of a june15 after contacting Dr. Court. and watching how long it took chick 4 to get free of most of shell , it was decided to rescue him. this is a case of good interference. I talked to Gord, and chick was still alive but would not have lasted another 2 hours. so let us hope it makes it. this is a case of a biologist in the know , going up with knowledge of these birds and quickly taking a chick and moving right out of there. what was done at genesee , yesterday should never have been done. and I said all in that thread already |

Now Radisson is a bit more herself, and more feeds are coming in. Poor Radisson -- the last couple of years have not been easy for her. I'm so happy that the little one's prognosis is so positive, Bev! I was pretty worried before The Hand came to the rescue. Let's keep our collective finger's crossed that Radisson and Chase can just settle into the rhythm of raising their 3 remaining chicks!! |

june16 u of A radisson and chase are much less stressed. you could see how perplexed she was. and because she was perplexed, this carried over to chase. we were only getting 4 small feeds here a day, which we knew was unusual. I really did not expect egg to hatch, but we know now , that Radisson could hear chick and was waiting. She did not want the others to get too far advanced. but they were getting older and they needed to eat, an you see her frustration. We also know now, why chick was having such a hard time hatching out. so after chick was retrieved, Radisson was upset but then settled right down. so there were 7 feeds yesterday. so the chick is in the best place possible , and we move on . |

I am lucky enough to watch them take in food at Mis. And the speed of the male is fast flying around the area. Thanks Bev for calling Dr. Court and saving the last chick. This year has not gone off on the right foot. We can only hope that this ends better. :) |

Radisson is currently feeding the Ravenous Three. She started off in the middle of the box and they've now got her backed into the corner. lol |
