No! Look @ the point cam, I can now see a tail hanging down in the center from above! Hahahaha!! At 8:15, the tail tip has moved to the left side. Maybe, the 1st sighting was a wingtip. You can only see @ intervals. At 8:23 Lil Dad flew from the nest to the point and within seconds, you can see Niecey fly down from the point cam and to the nest. She is now lying on the eggs and Lil Dad remains on the point preening as I leave @ 8:28.

:spring1: Niecey is on the point and Lil Dad on the nest currently. Thanks for your pics, Terka!

:spring1: Coming in at 7:05 EDT, I found Niecey on the nest and Lil Dad on the point preening and calling at intervals. Lil Dad dove off the ledge and flew for the night @ 7:47 and Niecey remains on the nest. Niecey has a white, fluffy, feather on her face that she keeps trying to toss off.

Niecey is alone on her eggs at 4:25 EDT. Having problems with buffering this morning and I missed the actual nest exchange, but Lil Dad is on the nest @ 6:06 and Niecey is not seen on any of the cams. I believe the exchange happened within the last 3-4 minutes as I had just seen her on the nest @ that time. Then at 7:11, I found Lil Dad looking upward and chattering and I believe Niecey might be perched on the cam above him. At 7:48 Niecey has arrived to the stick and Lil Dad leaves the nest and flies within the minute. He returns for a mating @ 7:50 on the stick! Niecey goes to the nest and lies on the eggs and Lil Dad returns to the point and is crying and preening at intervals. They remain in these positions as I leave @ 8:00.

Saw a nest exchange about ten minutes ago. Niecey is on the eggs, and Little Dad on the point. I've never seen the falcons sit on the cam right above the scrape. I don't think there enough room for them to maneuver there. Just found out that two of our own Red Girl's eggs in Wilmington have hatched, so Little Dad is a grandpa again.

A third hatch in Wilmington has been confirmed via Facebook.

A few minutes ago, I found Niecey on the nest napping. She was awakened by Lil Dad who was above her making soft calls and you can also hear his talons striking on a firm surface. She kept looking upward for awhile and then back to sleep as he is quiet now.

Little Dad has been on the eggs for quite some time, and I'd expect Niecey to come in shortly. It's raining pretty good here, with heavy rain expected overnight. And I can't imagine having hearing good enough to hear Little Dad's talons on the cement!

Jane, Lil Dad was not on the cement, I could not see him on cam ... I could only hear him making soft cries to Niecey and every once in a while, I could hear his talons scratching against what ever he was standing on. Niecey was lying in the nest and craning her neck upward looking at him or trying to see him ... I assumed. He was standing on something that was above her.

Omg, you all are getting it right now!! I can not see into the nest from the stick cam and from the nest cam, I am guessing this is Lil Dad from the narrow tail, but with all the feathers being blown backward on his body, I am not 100% sure. Will watch for a nest exchange ... hoping if Niecey is out there somewhere ... she is not far and is safe. Maybe this is Niecey already in here. I guess Niecey slipped in between mine and Jane's posts. Hate to see them have to fly in all that rain and wind!!

Lil Dad is already on the nest at 6:24 EDT. Niecey is not seen on any of the cams. At 6:41 I heard Lil Dad's cries and I thought Niecey must have returned, but going back in I found the eggs alone and checking the point it looks as if Lil Dad is standing with his back to us and then he flew straight out and out of sight! He returned about a minute later and is again lying on the eggs. I don't know what prompted him to do that. I still do not see Niecey on any of the cams.

Little Dad has been on the eggs since I first tuned in around 7:30. Dark clouds are out in the west, and the wind is starting to pick up. One of the mics is near the scrape. There may be a second one up there, but I don't know where it's located.

At 8:15 with cries, Niecey has returned to the point and she preens! Upon hearing cries at 8:44, I go back in and catch the eggs alone and Lil Dad arriving to the point. Within a couple minutes he flies and I found someone landing near-ish the stick on the ledge cam and I thought it was him, but next thing you know, Niecey is walking into the nest and lies on the eggs. Then, Lil Dad returns to the point and is preening as I leave.

Quick check finds Niecey on the nest and Lil Dad fighting the wind on the point!

Yes, it's really windy here. Trees behind my place are really swaying. And it's only in the 50s.

Red Girl now has FOUR chicks! Fourth one must have hatched earlier this morning.

At 7:44 Lil Dad is on the point and Niecey is on the nest. At 7:47 he dove off the ledge and flew! Whew, I barely made it in to see him off!! :teehee:
Jane, I think the 4th one hatched after 6:30 am nest time, because I was in at that time and could only see 3 chicks. So probably sometime between then and when Terka posted her pic of the fresh broken eggshell!

Lil Dad is on the nest and Niecey is on the point @ 7:00 EDT! At 7:28 she's scooting on her belly forwards and backwards on the point, stopping just short of going overboard while moving backwards! Jane, this has to be the moonwalk you were talking about!! Then, she moved further down the ledge doing the same thing and I had to go to cam 3 to see. Back to the point to preen! By 7:38, she's getting her stretches in!! :teehee: 7:41: It's the nest exchange with Lil Dad slipping out the front door and to the point to preen while Niecey gets on the eggs. He flew at 8:00!

Niecey is on the nest at 4:42 EDT. Lil Dad has not arrived this morning. Well, this is different! Lil Dad arrived to the nest @ 5:47 with Niecey and we had a stand off till 6:00 of Niecey refusing to get up. Lil Dad even used her tactics of moving in closer and finally they talked beak to beak before she got off the eggs and flew to the near point. A minute later, she flew to the left from this spot and out of sight. While this stand off was happening, I was trying to figure out why the hesitancy for her this morning. It's too soon for chicks ... right? I need to go back and check the times the eggs were laid. I did not see a pip ... is she hearing chirps from the eggs ... or giving Lil Dad a dose of his own medicine ... refusing to leave the eggs? :5val:
