they are zoomed in so close with two cams that it is hard to see legs. I generally know the difference but I am struggling this year as I have not watched as much. I have all 3 cams up

something going on.
she was sleeping and went out quickly and flew off and came back and flew out again and came in chupping. She is alert, so maybe yankee is having to defend and just supplies food right now.
she is with chicks right now

I have on tape but have ot go out. cam is recording

yes Dixie has been preoccupied with what is going on outside the box! I know Yankee loves sitting on his young ones and I haven't seen him doing that for several days now. But I am hoping that he is out there defending the territory for his Dixie and his babies.

Dixie is not home right now; probably getting the food.

Just observing... DIXIE is out on the perch looking around. The kids are in a pile in the nest box.

FINALLY proof of 2 birds!! Hopefully its an uncharacteristic Yankee...who would probably not leave but go to perch..But, for now, I'll say its Yankee!!

Yankee did not go into see his babies as far as I know. Dixie is feeding the babes now. This is strange behavior for Yankee. He is usually very attentive towards the eyases .

I can't say I've seen Dixie covering the babies much right along. They seem to rely on each other for warmth. Something is strange here this year. But I can't put my finger on it. I may drive over there later on with my binoculars to see what I can see. I love this site; actually I love them all but this one and Columbus have my heart. I don't like to show partiality so they all have my heart. :15heartbeat:

Sally...I haven't been watching 24/7, but I do agree with you...something's off this year.

They just finished a nice feed..Dixie went back to the perch after the feed...and has just taken off. Looked like she saw something the rest of us couldn't see on cam...

Hmmmmmmmmmm

I just took the above captures after returning home from UB. At first I didn't anything for several minutes just a hint of Dixie's back side. Then I noticed above her there was a falcon which I assume is Yankee but really I am not too sure about that. Next Dixie treated me to a beautiful aerial display - awesome for me to see up close and personal! Then Yankee(?) joined her but she went back to the box rather quickly and then the other falcon resumed his position above her. This is so strange because we all know what an active parent Yankee is.......

That's my report; I plan to go back tomorrow. However, I must admit I am baffled!

At times today, it was snowing to beat the and I didn't see anything.

Sally...thank you so much for going to down and for your "in person" observations!!. I'm glad we at least have 2 birds there...I would feel so much better if Yankee made an appearance IN the box...or at least on a perch so that we could check his legs and feet!!

I visited UB again today. The visit was unremarkable. Dixie was on the perch. And Yankee(?) above her at almost the top of the tower.

Here's a capture taken just now of the little munchkins in their huddle. I think these two are two tough little chicks. They have been exposed to harsh elements since they've hatched and they seem to be thriving just the same. I've named them Doodle and Dandy. You know the song Yankee doodle dandy........lol

could it be possible there has been a turnover and male is just providing food. Dixie may not wan them near chicks. I hope we still have Yankee though
