:1val: The same thing happened to me this morning when I saw the shell, but since then I could see two eggs, the chick and the top of one egg on the other side of the chick with my only quick view of all. Interestingly, just a few minutes ago when she raised a little, I saw an area on one egg that looked similar to what they were calling the start of the pip the other day. (pre-pip) Also, I caught her excavating, bringing pebbles toward the rim of the bowl to build it up, which I noticed her doing a lot of the other day before we were aware of a real pip. Will have to watch her more though. I did not see any signs of a pip yesterday.

Excavating again at 12:30.

Thanks Swinwk...its the old one. She's pebble picking, so all 3 eggs are still there...

Keep watching...I'm off to work.

:teehee: The reason I chose excavation instead of pebble picking that I normally would say is because this gal doesn't just drop the pebbles back down, she is very vigorous at times in bringing them toward her and dropping them.

:1val: I was away for awhile, but just watched a nest exchange with her going out and Dad coming in till she came back shortly with prey. It was a blocked feed. Have not seen the area on the egg (I believe it was the darkest one) since the one time this morning. She did a lot of shuffling after the pebble moving I saw her do earlier today and I was hopeful for awhile, but then she calmed down. The site has not reported anything today, so I assume they saw nothing of interest. And I have not seen anything of interest recently. It's been just a tad over 48 hours since the 1st egg hatched ...

1 HATCH
May 15
The chick is pushing his siblings around, and they're all still just eggs!

:1val: They pulled the cam back, but I did not notice any changes this view of the eggs. Feed in progress by Mom with lunch already waiting to be stored on the parapet with Dad.

thanks swinwk..

Mom is gone, Dad on the ledge, looking around...prey also on ledge. Dad has just hopped up to the top of the box. Mom not on cam.

Odd that the cam is pulled back unless it resorted to a preset...also odd Mom isn't there.

Dad has just jumped down and headed to the box. Maybe they just got their signals crossed.

:1val: Sky, I think Dad was spooked. I did not tell the whole story in my post above. When I 1st went in the cam was still in close-up view and Mom was on duty. She left and Dad immediately came in. That is how I could see the eggs. Right after he just got everyone covered and he settled is when the cam pulled out and he seemed to notice it move or he could hear it as he abruptly left and went to the parapet as you could see by then, because they had pulled out. The prey was already there and he stood beside it looking toward the cam. Mom then came in and started the feed. I guess with them being relatively new to this site, they are not used to seeing or hearing the cam move. The cam is in close-up view again and Dad is on duty.

Thanks swinwk. That makes sense. I've seen Mom/Dad give the cam the evil eye when it moves.

Cam is not cooperating with me. Dad was on the chick/eggs and then the cam went batty. Next thing I knew was Mom was back and you can sort of see Dad as he left. :girlsad3:
