:eggthumb: Great capture opportunities right now you all. They have close-ups of her down the runway exploring. She makes me nervous when she looks longingly at the top of the parapet.

She'll be attempting to get up on the ledge soon (if she hasn't already). I dread that!!

OK..how the heck did the baby get on top of the box!!! (rhetorical question)

Did she fly up (now that would be impressive) or hop/flap to the ledge then the box.

Time to find some shade..

and sticks the landing

11:04 and she is on the lip of the box..

If I had to make an educated guess, I say she used the ledge to get to the top of the box. Of course, if she's super girl and actually had the wing strength for that height, then she flew up there...but, I kinda doubt it.

Its been a while since we've had a chick here and a long time since we've had chicks without the cage...so, I really can't remember what they do here at this age... :girlcrazy:

Your photos are awesome SGB! It will be hot next week, but I assume she will fledge over the weekend? I guess it will give me an excuse to leave my home, which I never do

She's still got quite a bit of fluff. She's 39 days old today. I think the general consensus (and hope) is that females will hold off until at LEAST day 42. Later is better because of how heavy they are compared to males.

She is back on top of the box. How did she get there, you ask? she went behind the box and somehow made it to the top from the back. Is the box sloped? Is there any platform back there? Oops...I think she just slid off the back of the box...or maybe she was trying to get down and slipped...she's still back there...

She's back on top...from the back...looked like a struggle..

12:49: back on the floor and around to the left side of the box.

she better not fledge this weekend. I gotta leave soon and won't be able to watch again until Saturday afternoon.

Still behind the box.

PS: when she fledges, it better be from where we can see her or Barb, you'd better operate the cam so you can follow her around. Huge space up there unless they have blocked it off.

Thanks CW...

As of 1:15 pm, she is still behind the box...unless she has just come out while I have been typing.

I went and looked at HBG's fledges..somebody correct me if I have this wrong.

The second to fledge (believed to be female) was either 43 or 44 days old depending on which hatch it was. Unfortunately, it was not a successful fledge and spent a week in rehab..

so....let's WILL this little girl to stay put until at least day 48...how does that sound. LOL

1:18....she has just come out and is debating her next move.....which.....is to return to behind the box...LOL
