The new female is named Discovery, black/black Z/53, hatched in 2021 Kitchner, Ontario.

I think Brock is confused...which is understandable....There are several pics of him bowing to this new little one...yet, most posts on facebook state he is buzzing her incessantly...the general consensus is that there is no other male...I'm not so sure...guess time will tell.

I've gone through several archives and there is no way to ID the "buzzing" falcon...my recording software isn't fast enough to isolate...

I have a really strange thought. Discovery was banded as a male...yep...it happens...we've seen it before. We're assuming that Discovery is really a small female...What if Discovery is a large male..and the bowing that we are seeing is really a youngster begging an adult for food.....and that's why Brock is confused...bowing one minute and attacking the next...LOL...

Probably none of the above...just Brock being confused...like me.... :girlcrazy:

3rd Falcon confirmed at Warren...Beth..we weren't crazy...after you said that...I've been searching.

It kind of explains Brock's erratic behavior...bonding one second then dive bombing on Discovery? I never was convinced it was Brock bombing Discovery...Wonder if its another male driving both of them crazy. I have been going through footage a bunch..I've only managed 1 pick with 3 birds in it...gotta go find it.

My only decent pic showing 3 birds...and I have no clue if the bird in the sky is a falcon...only that it was very fast.

One adult is divebombing Discovery this morning. She seems to stand defiantly in the box, like she is saying “Is that all you got?” She has flown out now- I hope she doesn’t get into any aerial battles with an adult….Warren
