Dad just came in and removed a half shell and took off with it. There is a whole lot of shell lying around there! He came back, stood by the chicks, was talking, thought he was going to take another piece of shell away, but flew without it. Chicks alone in nest. Not sure if he is around and just out of cam view. In a bit, Mom returned to cover all.2

I had to go to the archives to remind me how old he is. Only 2, so surely 1st time Dad and she only has the experience of 1 chick. She is one of my favorites! Was really glad when she came back after that 1st year.

I didn't see it start, so don't know if Dad brought food or if Mom came in with it.

Just saw a nest exchange. Dad was standing in front of the chicks with his back to us. He left and Mom came in. Don't know if there was a feed by her before she left and came back. Mom on duty.

Just finished a feed. It had already started when I arrived.

Dad still hasn't quite figured out what he's suppose to do other than be with the kids...first he picked pebbles, then his toes.

Then thought about some housekeeping...

..but then found himself in the middle of the pile, stuck on one foot.

He got out of that mess and thought about more housekeeping..

But then they ended up on his foot.

He made several back and forth trips between the lip and the chicks..

Just when I thought he might actually get on the chicks..

He spotted Mom...and he was outta there.

Dad taking a turn with the babies. Looks like he finally figured out how to tuck them under. I'm not currently seeing anything on egg #4.

Update from VDWR:

(In this update they have the year Dad hatched as 2018, but in the archived update of when this male was 1st identified and introduced to us here, the year hatched was 2019 making him only 2 y/o.)
