And still 4 in the corner, all standing now and one of them is preening. If they leave it on this view they changed to this morning, we will not see them when they come out of the nest.

They have pulled the cam back again, but not a single one of them in view right now.

Just saw the very end of a feed with all 4 standing under or near the light fixture area that is away from the nest in a view we don't normally see. Parent walked away. They are starting to disperse from area.

They have returned to normal cam view and all 4 are huddled in the right rear, corner of the nest box as skies darken early tonight with the cloudy conditions.

Thanks, SWINWK. It seems like the kids in years gone by-once they got out of the box and started exploring they were pretty much gone until they fledged. These guys are sticking pretty closed to home! :clapegg:

Banding should be next week and the cage. They did banding last year on day 38 and day 38 will be next Saturday for the 3 oldest. Can we please name the parents here?

I love how they're starting to play...except for the sleepy heads in the box.

Feed in progress with at least 3 in the nest, but only one taking all the bites. Whichever one this chick is, it is almost as wide as it is tall. Surely a girl! At 5:12, one of the others decided to join the feed. The big one moved and I can see the 4th one now. The 2nd one continues to get a private feed as the other 2 do not seem interested. The 2nd one turned away from the feed, so Dad finished it off. He left the nest at 17:15 and hopped up onto the ledge and walked out of cam view.

Last season I asked more than once if we could name the adults here and I just recently asked this season. A story popped into my head. Years ago when I was a supervisor in the ER one of the Drs. who had been born and raised in KY as had I, told me a story about his mother. For quite some time, she had been asking her family to get rid of the piano she had. They never quite got around to it. So even though she was elderly and not in the greatest health, she took an axe and whacked it to pieces right there in the house, then declared: "Now they'll carry the d*#n thing outta here!" You know, 24/AU was a wonderful tiercel and he died nameless when it didn't have to be that way.

...just a thought...not everybody sees every post every day, swinwk...

Naming? I usually like to defer to Barb, but she's super busy with baby bird season...

I'm fine with naming Mom and Dad. we just need to come up with a list of suggestions and then see what everybody thinks.
