Storms are passing through our area right now. Blowing like crazy at my place, but no rain yet. Hope those boys stay well back from the edge of the ledge, although I think the building itself blocks some of the wind.

:flirty: I think it is the 2 older chicks perched on the fat part of the stick selecting the best spot just as their Dad would do. The youngest is lying up against the stick and nest and is difficult to see. Then Niecey arrived to the stick and the chicks are vocal.

:loveheart2: The 3 chicks can be seen asleep against the wall from the point cam and Niecey is atop the front wall of the nest box.

:flirty: One resting by the column, one preening on the fat part of the stick and one lying near him on the ledge.

:flirty: Three chicks were in the nest and one was eating. Niecey was on the ledge, but flew to the stick and was vocal. 85 on the point. The one that I thought was eating, now has something hung in it's throat with a feather sticking out of his beak and is struggling to rid itself of it! It is one of the older ones. 85 and Niecey are both gone or at least not in cam view.

:15heartbeat: It is still struggling, but I think more of the feather is sticking out.

:15heartbeat: Either he got it out or the youngest one did. It had shown interest in it hanging out of his brother's beak. Unfortunately, I wasn't looking at the time it came out. But, now the youngest one has it and is trying to eat it. I saw him pick it up off the ledge just prior to eating on it. It was just stolen from the youngest by the 3rd brother who is now trying to eat it. The youngest one walked over as he still wants it. Niecey arrived to the ledge and the 2 oldest stopped what they were doing and ran up on her scaring her off, but then she returned to the stick. And then she is gone again. But at least it stopped the consumption of the bad feather and whatever remains on the end of it.

That was Yellow with the stuck feather. I didn't see how he got rid of it, but glad he did. Green is the other chick that is pretty well feathered out. Red is still rather fluffy.

:loveheart2: The crew is sleeping on the ledge near the point again tonight up against the building. One just got up from the huddle and backed up to the edge of the ledge for a PS and returned to the group. Niecey is atop the front wall of the nest. She wasn't in view earlier this evening after dark.

We will be starting fledge watch on Monday, May 31. We can use more help, especially between the hours of 9 and 3 every day. If anyone in the area can volunteer, PLEASE consider giving some time. If you have eyes you can help. We do our watches from the grassy area in front of the Amtrak station. If it's raining we relocate to the overhang of the station. Bring a chair, water, snacks if desired, and wear sunscreen. Masks are required. Restrooms are available at the station.

Looks like maybe the three boys are going to spend the night either in the scrape or out in front of it. Niecey is on guard on the shield. The weather here is LOUSY. Chilly rain and windy.

:buzzybee: The perch that sits atop the wall with the back door has fallen into the nest. The boys are asleep against the fat part of the sick and building. Niecey is atop the front wall.

Saw a feeding about half an hour ago. That perch section on top of the shield must have come loose around 8 last night. Glad if fell into the scrape rather than being cockeyed as it was last night. Two of the boys are over by the window and one semi on the stick. I would feel more comfortable if he was on the fat part. Chilly rain here today and cool. Only in the 50s.

When I tuned in earlier one of the boys was playing or trying to move that piece of wood. Funny, but stronger than you would think. that's why its laying the way it is. It was like he wanted it out or there. Chilly out there but we do need this rain.

I hope the one in the scrape is ok. He looks like he hasn't moved for a while.

He's ok. He just lift his head up right after I posted. Guess he's warm there.
