SHE'S BACK. LIL DAD WAS ON THE CAM AND FLEW DOWN INTO THE SCRAPE, SHE'S OVER BY THE COLUMN. WELL SHE WAS, SHE JUMPED UP ON THE SHIELD AND THEN DOWN IN THE SCRAPE.

SusanE, I think it is in the outside realm of possibility that they could clutch a few eggs, but very, very unlikely at this late date. I think if they started mating, it would still take 2 or 3 weeks before there were eggs, and we'd be maybe into August before they hatched and mid-September before they fledged. Even if they did clutch this year, the prospects for any chicks wouldn't be good as most of the songbirds would have migrated before they were ready to learn hunting skills, so there wouldn't be much available prey that beginning hunters would have much chance at. Although there are always plenty of starlings and house sparrows around...

It would certainly be interesting to watch unfold, and you know they would have guardian angels on the ground to see that they at least made it safely to the sky.

Thanks So much Reenie and the others watching especially ljames's pictures. they are so good. noticed that "top knot" yesterday and the way her tail was. She really has the lineage of Mom in her looks. Wow! I'm hooked, but I don't forget either :egg8: Hope I see her on here soon. Jane, did you get those blasted groceries???? LOL!

I will be in Harrisburg on Monday afternoon. I will do my usual "looking up" and I already have a name so
no worries. :-)

It really doesn't appear that the hormones are humming all that loudly in this case. It's like there is a vacancy to be filled, but no real urgency. I don't know if it's the fact that the boys are there, or if it's just a function of the calendar and season. I think we could all hope there aren't any eggs laid this year and that they are together come Spring! I will be very curious to see if the bond is strong enough for Dad to go on his annual peregrination, or if he stays there for the winter to defend his nest and his new lady.

Back from getting the groceries, and now there are SO many questions people are asking. Two years ago, Lil Dad stayed for the winter. We know this past winter he was gone for about two months and No Band male showed up. I actually saw him mate with New Girl in early January, much to my dismay. As for a second nesting, Peregrines will nest again if their first clutch fails early in the season. I have NO IDEA on earth about this situation. Kind of hope not at this point, but we'll just have to wait and see. I hope to get downtown around 6:30 tonight. And Lilhelen, I would love to meet you on Monday. Let us know an approximate time of when you'll be in HBG.

Faith, I believe you are right. However last year she was the hussy who flirted with a passerby!

Linhelen it would be great to meet you. What time do you expect to pass through Harrisburg? Jane, migraine today, so I can't be downtown tonight. SusieA do you think you will be here over the weekend? It would be great to see you again!

THE ONES OF BLUE BOY AND RED AND SOME OF DAD WERE THIS MORNING. BLUE'S WERE REALLY EARLY WHEN HE WAS ON THE LEDGE ON THE OTHER SIDE OF THE COLUMN. WINDOWS ARE SOOOO DIRTY AND THE LIGHTING WAS BAD. THE ONE'S OF LIL DAD LOOKING SAD ON THE STICK ON THE LEDGE IS WHEN NIECEY LEFT HIM AFTER BONDING IN THE BOX.

I am SO glad that my memory is wrong about Lil Dad leaving NG the first year. Hopefully, he will stay this winter. GORGEOUS shots, Reenie!

Will need to look at all of those photos later. Need to throw some dinner together and head downtown. Sorry about your migraine, Sue. I will miss your company.
