Food was brought in and she just let them run around with it for a while until they settled down, then the feeding began.

The kids have names.... from SJ Yahoo forum:

For those who may have missed the San Jose City Hall News Flash yesterday morning, please view at:

Thank you to the Office of Mayor Chuck Reed, the City of San Jose, and UC-Santa Cruz’s Predatory Bird Research Group, for sponsoring the contest and helping raising awareness of the peregrines that call San Jose City Hall home.

In a nutshell, we are proud to formally introduce you to the four 2014 season San Jose City Hall eyasses!
• Blaze (yellow band, U/36) – nominated by Katelyn and Nina, Grade 4, Holly Oak Elementary School
• Bolt (red band, U/86) – nominated by Samik, Grade 2, Delphi Academy. By the way, don't be seeking out that red band, Bolt made quick work of removing it on banding day! No worries however, colored bands are meant to be temporary. They were added to the banding process a few years ago to assist ground observers during fledge watch to more readily ID a bird (easier to see a color than read a band).
• Beatrix (blue band, 11/Z) – nominated by Alicia, Grade 9, Andrew Hill High School
• Halo (silver band, 35/R) – nominated by Daniela and Gia, Grade 4, Holly Oak Elementary School
In case you are wondering how the names were paired to the birds, that honor was bestowed upon the Camera Operations team by Glenn Stewart. Our all volunteer CamOps crew put in countless hours monitoring and directing the cameras, taking videos and still shots, as well as regularly updating the forum with their careful and thoughtful observations. I can't think of an individual or group better qualified to match the eyas personalities to the above names!

Many thanks , once again, to all of the students who submitted names. Every submission was highly valued, regardless of whether it was selected as a finalist or received the most votes during the on-line naming contest.

Happy viewing everyone, more big days ahead when Fledge Watch officially kicks off on Friday, May 16. Keep watching the forum posts for updates on Fledge Watch 2014!

Thanks for the name info. They are good names and typical for school children choices.

First thing this morning caught a chick on the end ledge flapping, then everybody was hugging the drain.

One of the girls decided she wanted the spot already occupied by one of the boys so she started pecking him, but he did not move. She finally had to settle for another spot.

Image

Later, they were all hanging out at the end, with parent above watching over them

I am now watching little Bolt maybe looking out at the world, wait I have a picture of him flying up there.

Image

Anyway I was thinking what a pleasure it has been to watch the cam this year thanks to the operators who have shown exceptional instinct for what the viewers want to see.

One still on the wall with two others looking on, trying to decide it they want to get up there.

Ok, I think Blaze just hopped up there with him. well , I can't see their bands, so guessing.

Image

Ok, one of the girls just hopped up there too. If they zoom on the bands, I report back.
