Gosh I sure do appreciate yr thoughts & wishes for me - :thanku

I do feel a bit better just knowing exactly what is wrong & will be able to actually pick up the CT scan films today (to take to the specialist) so I will be able to have a good long look at them too :?

Yeah ... that thought has gone thru my mind too PattiO - that I should have gone straight away & it was the first thing that I thought after it happened, that I should go to the hospital, as I really did think that my whole face had been ripped off - but once my husband dabbed all the blood away we couldn't see too much superficial damage - just a bloody nose & a few grazes ... mmmm, little did we know what had happened to the bones underneath :o

I just had a look thru all the scans & Oh Man, I really don't know what I am looking at :P so not sure where it shows the fractures :? although I can definitely see big blood filled areas

I will be anxious to hear what the facial specialist recommends on Monday. In the meantime, Dr. Susan recommends you rest and get yourself a little bell to ring when you need something.

Ha ha ... luv the bell idea SusanE ... don't how much the rest of my family would appreciate tho

And yes, PattiO, I did grab a bag of frozen corn kernels out of the freezer & held on it for hours straight after it happened but my arm got tired of holding so I didn't keep doing it.

I gently put a LOT of makeup over the bruises yesterday so that I looked a bit less "scary" & did some shopping yesterday & it felt pretty good but I was really bombed afterwards - but I had managed to bring home a bottle of my favorite, & only for special occasions, pink bubbly so that was a kind of nice relief :P

Hi SusanE - it's 4.58 am here & I should really be asleep so it was nice to see yr message to me just now

Basically good news fr the specialist - he said I was lucky & that there is only one major break under my eye but that it should heal fine - phew!!! And yesterday I didn't need so many painkillers at all - just more makeup as I was helping in the music school :P

I have not checked this thread in a long time and OMG!!!!!!

PRU: what a thing to happen.
I am so glad that things are healing and that you are feeling better. Now I know why I do not use the pressure washer.

I loved that you posted the recipes PRU. 4 of my favorite things. When mom was alive she made a mean Pavlova and I love the lammingtons. I always have rack of lamb when I go out but my uncle ,used to stoke up the barbie when we were there and made some real great chops.

I hope you are feeling much better.
I will remeber to check this thread now. :sfwave: :sfwave:

I'm glad you found the Aussie Day foods Bev - I thought you'd appreciate them!

And yes it sure is a relief each day now to wake up & feel & LOOK a bit better! Phew! No I've totally resigned fr gardening - it's so discouraging anyway in all the heat - even though you water them every 2nd night (as per the water restrictions) it still only just keeps them half alive & the weeds fully alive - ha ha! Naah ... I can't wait until I can get a house of own again (as currently we are renting) & then I will have one of the ultra modern Aussie "rock gardens" - all pebbles & cacti - sounds good to me! :P
