Just heard a canoodle on the point. Am hoping to work in a falcon fix later today.

9:33 CANOODLE ON THE POINT. LIL DAD THEN FLEW TO THE SHIELD WHERE HE IS NOW PREENING AND NIECEY IS STILL ON THE POINT.

NIECEY HAS BEEN GONE FOR A BIT, BUT LIL DAD IS STILL ON THE POINT :-)

Lil Dad took off from the stick a few moments ago and returned to the point no 30 seconds later with some prey. Would suspect that was stashed somewhere. Niecey came in from somewhere and flew off with the prey. Lil Dad is still on the point. WONDERFUL bright sunshine here today, and it's about 45 degrees. A bit windy, too.

Got downtown for my falcon fix around 3:45. Niecey was on the point and Lil Dad on the stick. Went up to the roof of the Chestnut Street garage for a better look. Lil Dad went into the scrape for a while, and then came out to the ledge part of the stick where he sat for a while. Around 4:00 he flew out over Aberdeen, and I watched the canoodle in person. After that, Lil Dad flew off toward the State Street bridge. I lost sight of him when the steeple blocked my view. Niecey remained on the point while I watched for about an hour. She was just sitting there at times, sometimes preening, and did some big wing stretches. After waiting for almost an hour for Lil Dad to return, I finally had to leave. Niecey was still on the point when I left. I see Lil Dad on the point now, though. I did look at the lower ledges beneath the nest ledge to see if there is any prey stashed there, but couldn't see anything from my vantage point. And it's Niecey on the point now. My mistake, unless they traded places while I was typing.

IT'S BEEN NIECEY ON THE POINT STILL THERE. GLAD YOU GOT TO SEE A CANOODLE IN PERSON! I GUESS I WAS AT THE HOME WITH MY MOM AND I MISSED IT :-(

Lil Dad has been back on the ledge for a while now. On stick, and now near the scrape. I wanted so much to see if he returned with some prey, but just couldn't wait any longer.

NIECEY SHOWED UP ABOUT 6:34, STILL PITCH DARK, BUT SHE MADE A LITTLE NOISE AND I CAN TELL BY THE HEIGHTH IT'S HER ON THE POINT.

NOT SURE WHAT'S GOING ON. NIECEY CAME OUT THE SCRAPE LOOKING UPSET AND LOOKING UP IN THE AIR TALKING SOME. SHE THEN GOT ON THE STICK, LIL DAD TOOK OFF, SHE GOT READY FOR A CANOODLE, BUT LIL DAD WENT SOMEWHERE ELSE, MAYBE AFTER SOMETHING? NIECEY THEN ALSO TOOK OFF OVER TOWARDS 333.

NIECEY JUST CAME TO THE LEDGE VERY UPSET AND LOOKING UP IN THE AIR. SOMETHING MUST BE OUT THERE, BUT I CAN'T GO CHECK RIGHT NOW............

SHE NOW MOVED TO THE STICK BUT REALLY LOOKING OUT OVER THE CITY.

NIECEY STARTED THAT WHINING NOISE AND THEN WENT DOWN TO THE POINT WHERE LIL DAD WAS. I SAW HIM FLY OFF TOWARDS THE UNIV. MAYBE THAT'S WHERE THE STASH IS :-)

NIECEY WAITING PATIENTLY ON THE POINT, LIL DAD PROBABLY HAS TO DEFEATHER EVEN IF IT IS STASHED OVER THERE.

There is a Red-tailed Hawk's nest not real far from the nest ledge. It's over on the other side of the State Street Bridge, but not RIGHT on the other side. While heading downtown yesterday I did see one of the Red-tails soaring around in that area. And not too long before I left yesterday a Great Blue Heron came flying right past where Niecey was sitting on the point. She paid no attention to it as it headed toward the river.
