i thought Niecey would offer some of that meal to the chick, but she finally left with it. Lil Dad is now getting to spend some time with the new arrival. I've heard that birds eat egg shells to get calcium. One other egg has a BIG pip in it.

Niecey managed to feed the chick a few bites before it wound up on its back. It has since righted itself. And definitely saw a little beak inside that one other egg. Saw that a couple hours ago.

Haven't seen the new arrival yet, only the posted pictures. Much cooler here this morning. It's 50 degrees right now. Tonight's lows are to be in the high 30s. :-(
