Brrrr! There's 100% visibility tonight ... even into the nestbox ... nobody's out and about ...

Just saw a House Finch taking a look around the place ... then, he went to the ledge and called for his mate ... she came and they are both having a look-see! :eggsmile:

I can say, with 99.9% certainty, there has NOT been a falcon in the nestbox since the cam went live. I've kept this cam up, non stop from sun up to sun down (with the exception of this past Sunday)...and the recorder on the cam when I am not home...No falcons...

I've decided my computer knows too much about me! I pulled up a map to find out where One Utah Center (site mentioned on FB where Bob may place a new nestbox) was and after only typing in One Utah Center, a map with diagram showing current nestbox with directions on how to get to One Utah Center appears!!! It bothered me so much ... I left right quick ... :teehee:

when 2 of residents are no longer there it sometimes takes a bit for site to be found. that is why we always hope at least one of the pair returns

any news on your female. she would lure someone in for sure

I spoke to DaLyn this a.m. The ill, adult female peregrine falcon in her hands at the Wildlife Rehabilitation Center of Northern Utah continues to improve ... from my scribbled notes of that conversation: healing slowly, responding to treatment of aspergillosus (breathing better), however, DaLyn is concerned about one of the bird's eyes ... not seeing as well through the left one (vs. the right one). Let's just allow DaLyn to proceed in providing the best, available care of this bird! I'll provide updates as to progress as regularly as possible. That's a promise. P.S. DaLyn has her hands full, it's baby bird season!

Also, on 4/23, a poster reported seeing 3 falcons flying around Zion Bank..no confirmation.

Mon., May 4 @ 6:31-6:48 p.m. - watched and thoroughly enjoyed the pair in the area of the Key Bank Tower. When first found, she was perched on the red "key" icon on the south face of the Key Bank Tower. The male suddenly appeared and, after a short flight with him largely to the north and out of view from my vantage point, she went back to perch on the a in Bank on the south face of the Key Bank Tower. Almost appeared that she wanted him to hunt something up and bring it on home, to her. Brief flights by the pair, wonderful flights by the male round and around the Key Bank Tower. Keep the faith, we, after all, still have a pair and nesting is not out of the question!

Wed., May 6 @ about 6:38 p.m. - (1) sub-adult, female peregrine falcon perched on the ledge below the huge, circular window (east face) of the One Utah Center Building, they're (the pair) still in the neighborhood, but no real indication of where the pair may choose to nest (if that's going to occur)

late nesting does happen. We had a pair here in Alberta , nest at end of may beginning of June one year. And that was late. fingers crossed

that you have put up another box , helps also. and if they choose elsewhere , you can erect a box at that time.
