Good grief, Niecey has been about to worry me to death all morning between stepping all over the chicks and leaving them uncovered in the sun. :egg13:

The temp is 55 - so not hot - babies are fine.
Mom could be grieving.

Yes, I saw her earlier before the sun got to where the babies are & she was spread out in the sun, then when the sun got to the babies, she went over to them. She likes the sun!

I've not been home all morning, and have been watching Niecey shielding the chicks from the sun for a while. Read all of today's posts, and am especially glad to know there was a feeding that was seen. Thought I just heard Lil Dad up there, but could be wrong.

At 3:37 I tuned in to see Lil Dad standing in front of Niecey--I would have guessed he was begging for a turn with the chicks and she said no, so he flew away---except that as soon as he flew away she left the chicks and followed him! Maybe a little "adult time" somewhere?

LIL DAD CAME IN A BIT AGO AND MADE NIECEY LEAVE, YOU COULD TELL SHE DIDN'T WANT TO. THEN SHE CAME BACK WITH FOOD AND HAS BEEN FEEDING THE CHICKS FOR AWHILE NOW. 2 VIDEOS PROCESSING NOW :-)

WANTED TO THANK EVERYONE FOR THE COVERAGE WHILE WAS BUSY MOST OF THE DAY. AND YES, IF THE CHICKS ARE LEFT IN THE SUN, IT'S NOT OK EVEN IF IT IS NOT TOO HOT OUTSIDE, THE SUN IS VERY HOT!

I wasn't able to post while that 6:00 feeding was going on due to making dinner. Niecey was very careful to see that each chick was fed. Was glad when the one was able to get rid of that leg. I've not seen Lil Dad via the cam all day, but I know he's been there.

I had no idea. I like the sun! I just always figure the parent birds know best,
and both these parents seem like very good parents -
and they are so sweet together
