After I said this pair are such sweethearts, Amy posted in RRP - this female is such a tiger when they go to get her babies to band them. hehe
Some bird pairs seem so affectionate -
others like King plant dont appear bonded at all.
Ya gotta wonder what they think. :teehee:

Earlier today...Dad's doing a feed, Mom comes in...and just like last year, Dad starts feeding mom...

Dad left first, followed by mom..This pic doesn't do her exit justice...she went STRAIGHT down..

Dad returned

I left...Haven't checked back there so don't know the status of the 4th egg..

I got one snip (on RRP) of them tug-o-war - hahaha

Great Bluff
I watched Great Bluff site for a few minutes. The babies seem hungry. Mom flew in with a smidget of food and ate it herself. Mom was a bit clumsy and stepped on the babies but one let her know it with a screech. Maybe Dad is coming with more food.

The babies are restless and hungry. I hear mom or dad but can't see them! It sounds like alarm calling.

I have to leave but will check when I get back. I hope they get fed and I hope mom and dad are okay!

3.30 pm - shift change - and eeewwww time!
Well this has NOT been a good day for falcon watching!
- Early this morng the Elk River male dragged prey across new hatched chicks - they cant self feed!
- Pitts. Pa female ate hole in egg and pulled embryo out - eewwww
- Now this sherco falcon eats egg, takes chick out, goes to outer perch and eats chick
Yes its nature and for the health of the falcon but - 3 of these episoded in one day.
AUUUGGGGHHHHH!
Afterward he (I think he) laid on their other 3 eggs.

I have looked in and watched this site quite a bit today. The babies have been alone a lot and I have not seen a feeding. I am concerned. I only saw mom (it could have been dad) come by twice but with no food. I am hoping someone else may have seen a feeding!?!?!? One other thing I see bugs bothering the little ones. I think they are black flies.

Mom or Dad are with the babies right now. I can't tell whether or not they have been fed but I am so happy a parent is with them. I will check tomorrow.

coops on RRP posted a feeding - Yesterday at 03:19 PM

I turned a lady in Utah on to bird cams and she was watching GSB a lot.
Face it - they have a FAB U LUSS set of cams!
She said - the parents have abandoned their babies! - she was upset. lol
now I know why, sort of. I am too busy watching other cams to watch GSB.
I see no posts on SS or forum about flies.

The cam view has been changed. The babies don't have much room for error! Oh my. But I think that must be a very beautiful area with the trees and all!

Oh and I think that is mom in the picture.
