About Brussels:
Initially all four chicks were determined as females (and accordingly banded). However, the first fledgling, band code L/R, went to the ground, was picked up and brought back to the roof of the cathedral.
Before releasing the little daredevil they weighed it again because it should have been heavier. At banding it weighed 533 grams and yesterday it weighed in at 580 gr.
This is a clear indication that it in fact is a male. Apparently it had been stuffing itself in the first three weeks :teehee:
