Okay, I'm going to try my hand @ influencing your vote! :teehee: Schooner for 1st-born as Barb schooned baby girl around the nest after hatching and Skipjack for our boy as he skipped town on us for awhile! :teehee: As for Sloop, well ... it fits and completes a great trio of great names for a great group of falcons that it has been a great pleasure to watch growing up!!! :flirty: There you go!!! Bet you didn't know Barb was schooning baby girl and not dragging! :eggroll:

Gosh!! The choices...LOL...I'm afraid I had to go with Koppie, Cade, Burnham. I do like the Transformers, but just can't call one of these kids "bumblebee"...I do like the tributary names..but, lots of sports fans in this area, so baseball names may be favorites...

So many choices...

8:48pm - Lousy picture... but at least it shows all 3! Look at that stranger on the right! :loveheart2:

Image

(Added approx 8:50pm - the one on the far left wanted to go over the fence... couldn't jump and his sib by the wall reluctantly let him use the step closest to us... he went over to say hi to his 'buddy.'
8:55pm - Parent arrived on left.
8:58pm - Chick on left is now with parent (?eating?) Too dark to see.....
(Photobucket not cooperating)

(I have found that when I used Google Chrome, I don't have to refresh as often (many Osprey cams that I watch are only visible on Chrome.... but that may be my computer ignorance... and not the websites.))

It really dilutes the votes doesn't it! I have a confession, I've heard the name Cal, but have no idea who Brooks and Buck are. :teehee: Would have liked to have seen 2 stronger feminine names for the girls grouped with 1 for a male that were fun and/or likable than those given. But, no matter what their names are, I will still love them!!! :flirty: I really want to win that BOH PLUSH! :girlyes:

June 17, 2015 Wednesday Shepnotes
5.15 am I am always surprised when suddenly one is more than half dark, a lot less white fluff!
The kids are waiting for breky, then they'll head down the roof and off cam
Late yesterday when they came back on cam I was surprised how active and fast they've become.
They are playing with a feather and wingercizing. They are really cute waiting for Mom or Dad

WHO is WHO?
To ID who is who I just dont know - period. Normal is
male feathers out and fledges first and is smaller than girls
But our Male was sick and could be behind, so that feather rule may not apply.
sky and the other girls will need to weigh in - cmon gals - guess! Be brave! haha!

From bon's pic above, my guess will go with norm - male in doorway - girls over th curb

---

The name choices sure aint good IMO. Buck Rogers of course!
Why not Star and Spangle for the girls - and Banner for the Male? :teehee:
Another vote is in order! Their triplets were not good male-female choices.

bon - I love your pic. I took pics this morning and overnite 01's feathers grew and fluff's gone! :egg14:

I want Boh too - but - would dawn bring me a screeching alarm?
Those GSB falconettes are so LOUD - and at 5 am!! - 1 down and 3 to go as of dawn June 17

:5val: :smilehat:

Confession: I can't tell them apart... so the names won't really matter -yet! :teehee:

(Cal = Cal Ripken: the Oriole who beat Lou Gehrig's consecutive game record; really a nice guy, too.
Buck = Buck Shoewater: the current Oriole manager (who rarely smiles) and doesn't appear to enjoy media/press conferences.
Brooks - Brooks Robinson (of course!) - Old-time Orioles 3rd Baseman (#5), one of the chicks was born on his birthday, another really nice guy.
Do you know where "Boh" came from? National Bohemian Beer - an Old Baltimore beer (brewery was located here); Nickname for the beer: "Nattie Boh."

I've been using this to refer to - but the camera angle (or my eyesight!) is throwing me off, I think:

Thanks BonBon..and that's a great reference (I too have it bookmarked)

Like Shep said, the male feathers will change first. It still amazes me how quickly they change, even if the male is the youngest..

I don't know how we're gonna tell the girls apart. We can't see their bands and unless they stay in view ALL the time, we're not gonna be able to learn personalities..

Next year (if there is a cam AND chicks) we need to ask them to use color tape on the federal band. That way we don't need to see the band. Craig "color coded" the Wilmington chicks...wish he had done it with these. maybe he forgot the tape or maybe he doesn't have permission to do it in MD...

Next year... change camera angle -maybe move it further to (our) right so that it points to the left ledge area where they hang out (don't know how we'll see fledge this year???) and (possibly?) add SOUND! :flirty:

Since this is the first year for the cam... who knew???
