Chesapeak has not confirmed this yet

Here is an email I got from Chesapeak June 29
Good morning,
Thank you for your email. We will look into the possibility of shifting the camera again, but we tried to take into account many requests to shift the camera to cover more of the ledge, which in turn, causes some of the "height" to be cut off.
Yes, I believe the camera will be run all summer dependent on available funding for the two wildlife cameras we run.
We do not have anyone on site, but we know of several people who went down to the nest this weekend to see any potential fledge. We rely on the expertise of the biologists who have been monitoring this nest for years to advise us on any action, since we are certainly not wildlife biologists and are learning throughout the process.

Thanks for the updates! My email was almost identical! BUT - they thought I made it down there Sunday - and I didn't... (I wonder who else was there and what time? I wonder if they were there during the MONSOON!!!)

Sky - your pictures are terrific! :flirty:

Yep - that was Boh - later one of the girls appeared on the ledge then vanished again.
I wish you'd go down and nose around and see if you can see or hear Koppie.

Shep - I've been watching YouTube videos today of PFs - I don't think I've ever seen one - I forgot to say that my email from Ches Cons said that the South side of the building in the courtyard is the best place to see them... that's definitely where I was (where I saw the 2 people sitting on a marble bench (in the rain!!! :teehee: )... I'm definitely going back down there... soon - will let BCAW know!!!

Just posted on the chesapeake FB page:

Growing up on a skyscraper must be interesting! We've received a report from the building's management that one of the eyasses (we believe Koppie - tbd) has taken up residence on another floor.

We reached out to Craig Koppie, raptor biologist with the Chesapeake Bay Field Office, this evening. He has no doubt that Barb and Boh will find Koppie on his new floor. Stay tuned, we'll update as we can!

:loveheart: I am glad Ches finally confirmed the fledge - and our beloved Koppie is SAFELY enjoying a lower home. We can be dead certain his voice will let his parents - and sisters - know where he is. I have seen the sisters looking down and I believe they are likely talking to him

Some might call it branching - or .. um .. roofing .. more than a fledge.

June 29, 2015 Monday Shepnotes
Only the sisters Cadey and Burnsie left, brother Koppie fledged June 27 evening

5+ am Both girls got up on bridge - one mounted from roof on far end, one from nest curb
5.25 am Prey drop
5.50 am One workin on eatin prey. They dont like plucking it
6 am both far end just walked off cam
7 am one up one under
The only responsibility these girls have is eat, sleep, flap and grow to fledge. Boring life!
10.24 am One at each end of ledge facing off - lol
One runs down ledge and very nearly goes over the outside
A bit before 2 pm Boh paid the nest a visit. He laid in the nest and scraped. He is so little and so pretty.
3.25 pm There's one of the girls on the ledge flapping in the sun
6 pm I see a bird waayyy down there looking out - no idea who

I really didnt see the girls much at all yesterday

:smilehat:

Thanks for the updates! Great notes Shep... I wonder if Koppie parked himself outside of an office window? What a great view that would be!
Humidity moving in in Ballamer... currently 61 degrees; high in 80's today, partly cloudy; same for tomorrow. Rain forecast for Thursday....
