This is sooooooooooo strange..there was another food drop about 8 minutes ago...kinda makes me a tad concerned...where are the other kids and why more food here? There has been more food in the past couple of hours than there has been in days!!

Its good to hear that Bonbon will (at least potentially) have company for fledge watch. It is so much easier when you have more than 1 watching. :clap:

Good luck Bonbon & sounds like the weather is going to be much nicer for you than it was for the fledge watchers here. It was hot & humid! :eggsad:

Both Barb and Boh have been here this morning (Both Twice)...Barb came in while our girl was chowing down on last evening's leftovers, picked up a small piece and started eating. Then she left...About 5 min. later, Boh lands on top of the table and just stands there, calling..He hops down, locates some leftovers and starts eating..meanwhile, our girl is still chowing down and could care less that he is there. He then leaves, taking nothing with him. meanwhile, Barb lands on the far end of the table (not for long) and Boh lands on the tray..he hangs around for a few until our girl realizes he is there and chases him off..

and that's it...she's currently pigging out again on leftovers..

I sure hope the other 2 kids can be located today, because I'm not liking how this day is starting out. I would have felt better if Boh and Barb had taken out some of the leftovers..I hope all is ok..

Mysterious morning
6.28 am Cady appears at far end
7 am Is that Barb or who?
Falcon tussled with Cady for pigeon leftovers, then went to bridge,
for awhile it sat on bridge vocalizing then down on roof eating, grazing whatever it can find.
7.14 falcon? under bridge - now up on top bridge
The chest is too white for juvie - too big for Boh - whiter than Barb?
7.15 enter Boh - WHATS all the RUCKUS!? - exit stranger - Boh sits in nest off cam (grr) as Cady eats
7.20 am LOL! Cady's done and races to Boh in nest - who flees!
7.24 is Cady deciding if to fledge? Nope - she flew up on bridge
8.35 am NO birdie on cam - ZZZZZzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz

I like to post my notes - even tho sky also posted hers.
I wasnt sure that was Barb - as you see

6:45am - 8:30am-ish: The weather was gorgeous! A little bit of sun - cool - in the 70's very slight breeze...
Well - I was there when all of "that" was going on... I DIDN'T SEE A THING AND I DIDN'T HEAR A THING. The "ledge is clearly visible with binoculars - but I couldn't see any of our birds! (I did follow a robin around (guess what I thought it was??!) There was very little traffic - so it wasn't loud with "city" noise! I went in the building and checked w/ the guy at the desk - Yes, he'd seen them (not today) - and said they were huge and liked to eat pigeons! (There were pigeons everywhere! There were plenty of birds - all around the area). I walked around the building, checking the grounds and checking all 4 sides of "ledges" - NOTHING. Checked nearby buildings (couldn't find a FNB - But a BankAmerica is right next door (tall building also)).

So, I was worried that I got there too late - no one else (that I saw) was looking for them... :egg16:

I took a slew of pictures - will post if I can figure out how!
(Added: I just checked my pictures - many of the nest area - none of the buildings (B of Am), courtyard area or (ROBIN) are there??? Several of the "ledge" - no birds - and I'm sure I was clicking away when all of your notes appeared. Frustrating. The nest "ledge" is the only "ledge" on the entire building...)

(If anything happened to the other 2 chicks - wouldn't Barb and Boh show unusual behavior? Or would that not be visible from the cam? Are you thinking that maybe that's why this chick is getting so much food??? Is that strange behavior?)

Bonbon...I'm so happy you were able to go down this morning. thank you for doing that...I'm guessing by your comments,that you didn't run into this marsha person...LOL...maybe she didn't make it down...

I'm sorry you didn't see anything...especially the parent fly ups...because there were several. I'm not sure you would have heard anything as I really didn't see the kid screaming very much...too busy eating..

I am concerned about the amount of food we saw brought in yesterday afternoon/early evening...very, very unusual..I don't think we would see unusual parent behavior on cam...if the 2 others were missing, you might see parents flying around, looking in various places...but, I don't think the cam would pick that up..You'd probably have to be on the ground, for quite a few hours, in order to track parent movement. I think the first time I went down to the Atlanta nest, it was probably 3 or 4 hrs before I actually found one of the parents and then was able to track its flight!! I think the people in the area thought I was crazy!! too bad!! That parent did lead me to one of the fledglings...very high up..

I went to Bing maps this time and found this (hope I was on the right building..hee hee..) I wonder if this is the nest tray..

There appear to be quite a few ledges on this side of the building. If they are ledges, then they appear very deep. Like the nest ledge, if anybody was under the overhang,you'd never see them.....with Bing maps, you can actually Circle a building..its pretty cool..

According to my recording: (times are approximate)

7:00 am~Barb flies up (starts out in nest tray then moves over, eats, then either feeds our girl or has it stolen..)
7:07~Barb leaves
7:07:30~Boh lands (top of table, hops down and starts eating)
7:15~Boh leaves (from under table) and Barb lands (top of table) a few seconds after that
7:16~Boh lands again (nest tray), Barb leaves a few seconds after that
7:21~Boh is chased off
10:49~Boh lands..I didn't see when he left..

Sky! I think I should have seen the activity you describe in your notes... I FINALLY put the little card in my PC and I was able to see the pics I took - There is ONE (oy oy oy - ONE!) that possibly shows a falcon on one of the letters on "TRANSAMERICA" - The building in your picture w/ the "shelf" or "ledge" or "nest"- that I've been calling "ledge" does look like what I saw... but from the ground and in my pictures it's much longer (the Bing pic is old - before the TRANSAMERICA was placed)- I've been f---ting around with the little card and my PC for over an hour :girlcrazy:

- If I can't figure this out soon (all the kids on my block are away or busy!!!!) - I may mail this card to you!!! (This is so frustrating!)... But all of the pictures that I thought were "missing" are there!

Again, I think if they would have started screaming, I should have heard SOMETHING! It was so quiet, peaceful, and EMPTY downtown this am! (and free parking!!!). I think I've got to plan to stay a while longer next time (forgot to mention in my earlier 'report' that from now on - DON'T TALK TO NOOOOOOBODY!!!... a guy walked by w/ a knapsack - and a thought, "Oh, goodie! He's here to look for the pf's too!" Lordy, he smelled like a whiskey bottle! and he had a big cup of ??? that he was drinking!!! Next time I'm going to MYOB!!!

Now I'm worried... and I know all of you are too... I hope they are ok...

Added - just reread your post, Sky - there are ledges like that on all 4 sides of the building! - But only one "nest" shelf thing - so that was easy to see (w/ binoculars).

(Off topic: A few weeks ago, I visited an Osprey nest at Masonville Cove in Baltimore - I'd been following the O family on a cam: http://www.fws.gov/chesapeakebay/OspreyCam/index.html
When I was going thru my pictures of the falcon site - the Masonville pics are on the same little card - and the TRANSAMERICA Building is visible in the background!!! Interesting, eh!?)

I knew the pic I posted was older (there was another name on the building) but I love how you can "fly" around the building in Bing maps...I tried to find the area with Google Earth, but no luck...

Definite 'smudge' on the ledge here (couldn't see from ground w/ binoculars and didn't show up on my camera until I put them on PC)...

(I've got to figure out how to edit these - I'm seeing things now that I didn't see at the site!)

(OFF topic: Here's one from Masonville Cove - where "my" O family lives... see the falcon bldg. in the background?
