lots of chupping today, friendly chupping but trying to lure a male. So they mus t be traveling through

we will try ad get to Bell on Sunday and see if we have one or two. will not be able to get band Id but at least the number of falcons LOL. let us hope no more than 2

U of A march 30

peter and i were down there and saw no one but Jean saw her on her aerial on CP and on cam above box. the places she likes. did not see her at turn in but not worried yet.
we will have a chance to be there longer n SAt and Sunday

impossible ot ID with cam as it is not in proper focus . and of course, already it is not working. So welcome to our year

well cams and now no cams.

do not be fooled at U of a. It is not working. stays daylight all day( 24 hours)

we will do what we can from the ground. silly me thought , we would be able to see things from the beginning.

jean ha d texted me to say who we think may be R was on clinical science for hour and a half and was still there

well we rushed down, but she had left.

So I have yet to see her. We do not know if it is her for sure. that we have not seen her at turn in spot bothers me.

Jean says it has been quite quiet down there. And of course without cam, we cannot see more.

I am going to be tied up with company from Wed till nest weekend so we will do what we can till then

fingers crossed.

So far only on e seen here.

Bell april2
Was going to try and make it there today but do not know if I will have time. But will be in that area Thursday evening and will take a check around. We know one is home from cam , which is no longer up . Trish had let us know before that

the way E4 was chupping made us believe others in area, but no eyes there

u of A april2

we went twice here, today , to try and get some ID. We have only one falcon home so far. We are not positive about too much right now.

this afternoon we thought the falcon had no bands ,as we saw none while it was flying ,but when we got home we saw bands when it landed. could not see that till we enlarged.the photo ( we were thinking Chase ) But it did ntot add up as Chase does not chase RAvens . this one flew off after two of them that got too close to College plaza. This falcon was on front of box facing in and after chasing ravens, it faced out. But we still are not sure. it seemed smaller but then it was cold and windy and probably hunched up.

so tonight we had a falcon roosting on the cam . It had bands and we could not read because of wind and she was not cooperating. It flew off and went over to the moon on Suite Hotel. It then proceeded to eat. ( the feathers were flying) now this is a favorite spot of RAdissons. She then flew over to the Ka-ching building. We waited for over and hour and then she flew off North east.

Yes, I should know , if anyone , if it is radisson. But we had a different year last year. We were used to watching her at the other site . and as they age their coloring changes a bit. But this falocn knows the area. I just do not want to jump the gun, so to speak. I am trying to not let my heart take over my mind

so if cam was up , we may have a better chance of ID. bu t of course it is not. So we will keep trying.

We decided to check out Weber , bu t when we got back we checked tuck in at U of a and finally had someone in there.

Bell april2

We took a quick trip down to Bell in our travels and did see one falocn flying and it landed on the ledge were their nest box is. cannot Id form below , but we will post a few pictures tomorrow.
It was nice to see it flying. It went into a stoop out of sight and we assume it was chasing one of the tons of pigeons down there. LOL

If we had a cam, we would know if there were more than one there. this site is hard to observe from ground

U of A april3

Jan had female in sight on the cam arm. When we got there she was still there. Very cold out. At 8:10pm she flew off toward turn in spot. We all checked it out an d there she was. It has to be RAdisson. She was very quiet .

hopefully Chase gets his little bod back soon. She was back early so he is a doddler LOL

RAdisson flew in quietly ove r our heads and landed on the to of CP

About 8:12pm- she turned din on the north side this time. Looking forward to seeing Chase any day now. He has always been tardy.

Peter has downloaded my photos finally, off camera so will try and post over next few days( I need to learn how)

U of A is seems to be fixed -- sunlight is showing for the first time in a week!

And Bell is back in operation.

We have 2 at Bell but so far the second bird is mostly staying far away or hiding behind the insert. The one that comes into view seems to be E4 but I have yet to get a good enough look at her. I am running the archives back 4 hours to see what all I can pick up. With Bev busy, I am not as free to go full screen without missing the possible action everywhere else. So I will muddle along and report in to Bev tonight.

I will go through the U of A archives when I catch up the Bell and report back here as well.

Bell



Male comes into view. Refuses to show his legs. Very skittish. E4 Scrapes some and waddles out to ledge. Not shown is that she returns to perch I think for the night.

The male? was around several times today but stayed far from the box out of view or just barely in view on the ledge. She finally coaxed him into view last night just after 7:30. So far this morning she has tried to get him to the box 3 times, but to no avail.

Not a lot of activity at the nest today, but bev received reports Radison was hanging out on the SW area of Clinical Sciences yesterday. I only saw them at the nest box twice.

we may have a banded and unbanded male . one from last year may have returned but banded on e was in box.

I am going to my sites but will post a few vidoes when I get back

we are just out the door. 2 males and a female at Bell. we will hope for best outcome( wanted an uneventful year)

bell April 9

well what a tangled web we weave.

Things were going smoothly with a banded male and E4. then yesterday emyrauld thought she saw the unbanded male from last year. it was hard to tell if male had bands but from where he came in, and the way he walked and his size . ????

So today while I was watching, all of a sudden there were 3 falcons in my view . E4 and 2 males. a bit later in came our unbanded male from th e north and then the banded one.

it was so strange because there was no a fight that we could see. in either one, but the unbanded one was chased off slowly.
so Peter and I finished up what we were doing and off we went with Emyrauld at the cam. she also pulled the recording for us with the 3 .

When Peter and I got down there we had 2 in sight on Bell . then one went to
box, and Emyrauld , confirmed that was E4 . one flew off, banded male I presume as he flew back in and Emyrauld saw him at box. E4 then flew off.

We stayed there for over an hour and there was no sign of aggression anywhere. So we left for WEber. NO sooner had we left than Emyruald had banded male in box.

So after we saw what we wanted ot see, we went back. AS we were coming up a different street on side of Bell, I saw a falcon on Toronto Dominion building. When we turned corner , i looked back and saw 2. so we parked and I took a few pictures. this building is just d own the block and adjacent to Bell.

I am hoping unbanded male gets the idea and has left. We will see. the banded male looks a lot bigger, but the smaller one appears sneaky and limber.

all I want is peace this year.
