8:20 PM - Durand feeding the babies a bedtime snack

The chicks spent quite a bit of time alone throughout the day. Of course Durand was always nearby, on one end of the ledge or the other. The temperature was in the low 60s today.

This afternoon I opened the webpage to find what I thought was Durand attempting to feed the chicks what looked like a wing. It turned out to be Aries! Next thing I knew, Durand raced into the box and took whatever it was away, and Aries left. I don't know if he even had the chance to feed the chicks. I didn't get any pictures, it happened so fast. I'm hoping someone got a video of it.

Boy, I wish I had seen that incident with Aries and the wing...LOL

....anyway, Room Service at approximately 8:10 pm..not sure they were terribly hungry...and Durand took the left overs out..

The kids are currently having breakfast. It must have started a little while ago as the one chick I can see, has a large crop!! :eastergirl:

Part of the evening feed.

The little dude on the back left really wasn't interested in eating...and by the time s/he was ready to eat, the feed was virtually over. Durand fed him/her a leg!!!!!!!!! I could tell it wasn't going down, so Durand pulled it back out and ate it for herself.

End of the feed...little #2 who had been on the far left finally made its way to the right, but was too late to get anything...forlornly watching Durand leave...

The second chick from the right was the most timid during the feed.

As the feed was drawing to a close and the other kids were less assertive, it got several really good bites.

At the start of the feed, I had noticed something on the side of its beak. Its not from this feed, but could be that it needed a napkin after a prior feed...don't know...could even be some type of abrasion? Who knows...

Durand is on the porch trying to shade the kids from the sun, but they are already in the shade....cool as cucumbers....while she is just panting away trying cool herself. Meanwhile, Aries is on the ledge...out in direct sunlight...snoozing away and quite comfy. Poor Durand....she and the sun just don't mix.
